Help!

Hello everyone!!

My fiance and I are from London, and absolutely love New York and have decided that we want to get married there.

There are few companies here in the UK that organise weddings in NYC, but i thought it would be a good idea to get some recommendations from people who actually live there!!!

The idea was to get married in Central Park. We've seen loads of photos of the different areas you can get married - but does anyone have any recommendations??? What's the best time of year?

Also, we are planning on bringing about 20-30 guests with us and need to find a restaurant to have a meal afterwards. We don't want anything too formal, preferably somewhere that serves good food and plays jazz.

Anyone got any ideas??!!!!!

Sounds like fun! I would check out the Zagat's guide for restaurant recommendations -- or check out the central park boathouse. I love NY in early spring - april/may. Good Luck!

I must agree, if you want to get married in Central Park, the BOathouse is a wonderful option.
It is beautiful place, I have attended weddings there, and it is gorgeous, especially for an evening wedding.

Re: Help!

Beautiful idea! I would say look into May, September or early October. Those months are traditional nice weather..not too hot not too cold. (Of course, weather is a variable). I love the summer months in NYC (June-August) but most people think they are too hot.

As far as restuarants, it seems there are too many to list. You may try the boat house or tavern on the green or you may want to go somewhere on the water or downtown manhattan to get gorgeous skyline views.

I know someone who is a wedding planner in NYC (a friend) and she has planed weddings in the park (one on marathon weekend). Not sure if you are interested, try www.marrymepro.com. She is a terrific, down to earth girl and may be able to assist you.

Best wishes and feel free to post with mor enyc questions!
