HI! I just got engaged 2 weeks ago and my finance and I are hoping for a September 2010 wedding. Looking at this site I already feel so overwhelmed! Does anyone have any suggestions for catering halls. I only want 1 wedding at a time and don't really want a catering hall. I would love to do it at a mansion or something like that! Thanks for your help!!!

Re: Help
Welcome and Congrats....
There are alot of mansion type locations on LI.
The Lessings group has a few
Glen Cove Mansion, Garden City Hotel, Oheka Castle
It totally depends on your amount of guests, and your budget

Re: Help
congrats on your engagement!!!
don't feel overwhelmed you have plenty of time!!!
i may be biased bc I am booked there, but if you are looking for a one-wedding at a time rh with a mansion feel def check out the Woodlands! The grounds and hall are beautiful...it is a mansion from 1928 on a 120-acre golf-course. The food is delicious and everyone that works there has been great!!!
good luck!

Re: Help
Please don't limit yourself to looking @ places that only do 1 wedding at a time.
I always said I wanted a place that only does 1 wedding, but when I looked @ The Swan Club I fell in love. You may miss alot of beautiful places and limit yourself timewise if you want a solo place.

Re: Help
welcome and congrats!!!
i would say you and the fh (future hubby) should decide on what kind of feel you want your wedding to have.....elegant, modern, chic, etc...then figure out a bidget and go from there...some place charge 65pp++ and others upwards of 200pp++ but we are all here to help!!!!!! there is a recpetion finder on this site to help you look thru all the halls...and we are a very resourceful group of ladies (and gents)...

Welcome and congrats...
Just a heads up, If you are going to register any time soon, and want to do macys, they gave us a Weddings sites and services Magazine for free (you can also buy it at places like borders).
That was my guide to eliminating and choosing places to look at / start with.
Good luck in your planning

Re: Help
Giorgio's only does one wedding at a time. The location is beautiful...golf course on one side and beach on the other. You also work directly with the owners which I love! FM me if you want more info. I have had a great experience working with them so far!

I may be biased as well but from what you say you are looking for The Woodlands is definitely worth checking out. I was looking for similar things for my reception and I fell in LOVE with The Woodlands. It's absolutely gorgeous!
