My coworkers wedding is this Sunday and they're having a strict dress code. Brides side has to wear fuscia or gold and grooms side has to wear orange or brown. I look awful in orange and brown so I thought tan was a nice compromise to brown.
Do you ladies think this dress might be too light and too close to white or is it safe?
I would try to get something brown, but I really can't understand the whole concept to begin with.

Re: Help!
Honestly I think its annoying that shes having a dress code, and I would be pissed too if i didn't look good in the color. However I would probably just wear the colors she requested at the end of the day.
I don't think the dress is too close to white but its definitely not brown.

Re: Help!
I have never heard of someone making you wear a certain color to the wedding. What are they going to do if someone comes in the wrong color?

Re: Help!
She went as far as to say no one is allowed to wear black because it's the color of death and a sign of bad luck. This was all put on a card inserted into the invite.

Re: Help!
The dress doesn't really look like it belongs in the brown family...the bride seemsidky so I might stay away. But then again what she is going to do if you show up in it....

Re: Help!
Really?? That is nuts! I have heard of color dress codes b4.. usually in the celeb world, but usually its a simple color like black. Those colors are crazy.. esp for a man! Good luck!
To answer your ques I do think the color is close to white/ivory. I personally don't want anyone at my wedding wearing any color close to white! lol... Might want to choose a dress a lil on the darker side to fit her 'brown' dress code.

Re: Help!
That's really silly that they're making people do that! Nevertheless, I honestly think that color is a little too light and close to the bride... Even just a little darker would probably be better.

Re: Help!
That's absolutely ridiculous!!!
I agree with others that tan is probably too light and seeing that the bride went so far as to mention with the invitations not to wear black ... She means business!!

Re: Help!
Crazy to tell people what color to wear especially when it's not something simple like black or even white.

Re: Help!
While I agree, this is a strange request, I think if you decide to attend you've decided to attend by the terms on the invite. I do think it's a bit too close to white personally. What about something in the gold color family?
ETA: Oh, I see brides side wears gold.. this whole thing is weird lol
