You can have it at a restaurant with a nice view.

I´m on a tight budget as well. There are some threads for tight budget vendors. I´ll bump them for you. If you want to share your budget (you can fm me if you want) i can give you some ideas.

Some of my suggestions: 1) pick an 'off' month, and get married on a day other than a saturday. My friend is getting married on a sunday instead, and her quotes were literally HALF mine. 2) donation instead of favors 3) Beer/wine instead of full bar
I think with the economy, you can be straight out with your potential vendors about your limitations - I've heard about a lot of bending lately.
HTH and good luck!

great suggestion on # 1
thats what we are doing ( March on a Sunday evening) and we meet our budget and then some...
i think you should also finalize your guestlist and stick to it! thats the main driver in the wedding expense.... if i have 80-100 people im in the 15k-20k range with everything else the same ( dj, photo, video) but i place 150people in my excel spreadsheet -- its a $35k wedding easy!

Re: Help Any Ideas
You can def do it on a $20k budget but it really depends on the # of guests you plan on having. The less guests you have the cheaper it becomes.

Re: Help Any Ideas
You can definitely do it! I'd say make sure you have a smaller guest list, maybe 100 people and you will have NO trouble at all. I definitely agree with having it on a Friday night or Sunday afternoon, especially if you're aiming for July since the spring/summer months tend to be a little pricier. My wedding would've cost me an extra $50 pp to have it on Saturday, May 15th. Also, leave out all the unnecessary stuff- you don't really need a cake serving set, or toasting flutes, or a cardbox. And these are things that a lot of RHs will be able to provide you with! Good luck!
