Help - Awkward invitation question (kinda long)

So it seems that I will not be able to get to my guest minimum with the A-list. So I have to come up with a B-list.

Here is the situation and I need some advice:

There are some girls that are friends of my friend Nancy. I met them while hanging out with Nancy. I never really became friends with them, but I talked to them when Nancy and I hung out. Also, I haven't seen them in almost a year. But, since I need more people, I figured I would invite them.

How can I do this? I really don't have much of a relationship with them, so to just send an invitation to them would be weird. If I tell Nancy I want to invite them, that may be weird also b/c (again) I really don't have much of a relationship with them. If I say I have room at the wedding and I would like to invite them, it may be insulting.

I know they wouldn't invite me to their weddings, but I think it would be fun to have some more young women at my wedding. Also, since Nancy isn't bringing a guest and only knows a few people, I think it would be fun for her too.

How can I approach this situation?

I think if you go about it with the approach of talking with your fiend Nancy. Ask what she thinks. Tell her you have room for more guests and you'd like to invite them. See how she reacts. If she's fine and feels the others would be fine, then by all means, invite them! Just be prepared for some not to come.

For our wedding, we were below our minimum, and invited a couple of SIL's friends that DH knew while growing up. Thru his sister she said they were coming, PS they never showed.

If you feel uncomfortable inviting them, I would take my mom's advice to almost any situation 'When in doubt, don't'. Think about it, and think if there are other people, maybe colleagues that you can invite to meet your minimum. If you are just a drop below your minimum, I wouldn't invite people for the sake of it, and maybe your hall will throw in some freebies.
If you still want to invite them after thinking about it for a few days, I'd talk to Nancy and see what she says.
Hope that helps!I

Speak to your friend about it and see how she feels. if are not that close to them, there is a higher possibility that they might just flake out on the actual wedding day and not come.

Think about co-workers, maybe some additional friends of your FH, parents or In-laws.

I would talk to Nancy and see what she thinks.

Are there other people u can ask? Co-workers or neighbors? That might help too.
