HELP - Church - St. Cyrils in North Babylon/Deer Park
My fiance and I were thinking of having our ceremony at St. Cyrils, but in reading a booklet the church sent, see that they do not allow photographers/videographers in the 'sanctuary' during the wedding. Does that mean we can't have any photos of our ceremony???? Some people we asked say yes, some say it's just that they wouldn't be allowed up at the altar with us. If anyone is having their ceremony at this church or has been there for a wedding and can advise, I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

We have pictures, as long as the photographer/videographer is unobtrusive(which you probably want anyway) there is no problem. Speak directly to the priest or deacon that is performing your ceremony. Let me know if you need any more information.

Was your photographer allowed to use an assistant with a pole flash? They say that is not allowed either. Also, that the videographer is not allowed to use a light on his camera. If not, did your pictures come out okay without this extra flash/light? Thanks!

I used Imagine Studios. My photographer never used a pole flash and the pictures came out beautiful. Most shots got in the screen behind the alter and cross, we have some very artistic black & white shots of us saying our vows. Remember how big and light that church is. Ill try to scan some and post them. We haven't seen our video yet so I cant comment on that. I dont believe he used any additional light, but I know he used a very high tech camera.

THANK YOU! Your info was very re-assuring! I'd love to see your pictures if you could scan them. I think the church (it's actually his church) is really beautiful, and I know he'd really like to get married there, but got really nervous when I read that.
