Could you tell her you wanted her to do a reading?

Maybe you can still have her a part of the wedding. Maybe she can do a reading or say a special toast at reception. Or maybe she can do something else instead of being in the BP. HTH and good luck!!!

Why didn't you put her in it in the first place? When is the last time you talked to her? Do you talk to the other girls from college on a regular basis.
I don't think I would ask her to be in the wedding party know, she might feel insulted. Ask her to do a reading. Maybe invite her to the rehersal dinner. You could give her a card telling her how much you care about her. Maybe, give her a little present.

You may want to call her and explain that you grew apart and had not been close and that you didn't think she would want to be in your bridal party because of that. Truthfully, that's one of the reasons.

Give her the option of being included if that's what you want. Don't do it because her feelings are hurt. Do it because you want her to be included.

The other option like others have mentioned is for her to do a reading, maybe you could ask her to be your wedding coordinator in some way.

That's a tough one. Think about why you didn't ask her in the first place. If that reason has changed you might think about asking her but honestly, she may think it's a pitty invite.

I wasn't in a friend's BP and we've been friends since nursery school. She's in NJ (PA now) and had to include her SIL- I was just edged out- she never spoke to me about it but her sister and MOH both told me that she felt bad (more than once). I would have perfered to have heard it from her but I was glad that she considered it.

I asked her to me in mine (and her sister) and she said yes...I added too many people into my BP (tho I love them all) b/c I couldn't decide! It's not easy...

If you can convey to her that you honestly considered it and still treasure her as a friend she should understand. Maybe say that you wanted to keep the parties small? If she is truly a friend she will understand.

My friend included me in all BP activites as if I was one of the BM- nails, hair, etc and that made be feel included and I didn't have to by a dress!! I loved it! Maybe you should do that for her! ( I did pay for those things tho)

I think a sentimental reading is a really good idea

If you really want her in the BP, then I would tell her something like this: Listen, after you came to me and expressed that you were upset at me for not asking you, I did a lot of thinking and I realized that was a huge mistake on my part. We were such great friends, you were like a sister to me, and I still want you in my life. I regret not thinking that way before. I'm sorry that I hurt you. Would you consider being in the BP, or at least doing a reading/toast? I would be so honored.
That is what I'd say in your position! I hope it helps! Good luck!
