Hi ladies, I'm Tara, I havent had the chance to post on here due to my crazy schedule, but I could really use some advice. I have my church and reception hall booked for September 13th, 2013 (Yes Im a friday the 13th bride!, at the North Ritz Club. I have no clue what to do next. I work full time and go to school four nights a week so I barely have any time to plan this wedding. Any advice you girls could give me on photographers, Djs, florists, etc. would be awesome! Also if anyone has quotes they could forward me for anything that would help too! Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Help! Don't know where to start!
first make a list of top vendors in each category and how much you would like to spend on each. then hop back on here and let us know who you narrowed it down to and we can help with what reviews we have heard. I had a list of top 3 for each and I used 1 day a week to meet with them (always making #1 the first appt.) and I had the reviews in mind when I would meet with them. I actually booked most of them on the spot expect florist and make-up

You can email a lot of vendors. Let's you weed out some people and then when you think you really like someone, take the time to visit. IDK what women did before the internet to plan!!!

Re: Help! Don't know where to start!
Congrats on your upcoming wedding!
Now that you have our hall, I would suggest to start with your guest list. Know how many guests you will have this will help to know how many tables you need for the florist. Once you know your guest list, you need to plan your budget. Figure out what's really important to you and your FH. For us, our DJ is #1.
I started with my hall's preferred vendors. I tried not to go too crazy with meeting with a lot of vendors. After a while, they all look alike.
LIW has a Vendors Helping Bride page. You can post on there and Vendors will send you information. You can also post on here and we'll share the quotes that we've gotten.
