I want to have enough time between the ceremony and the reception to take pictures.
The church - 3:00-4:30 (includes receiving line)
Coctail hour - 6:30
Distance between the church and the reception is 1/2 hour.
This leaves us with about 1.5 hours to take pictures at Carlyle on the Green.
Do you think I will miss some of the coctail hour?
I am not seeing my fiance before the ceremony. Should I see him before the ceremony to get more time between for pictures? I don't want to miss my coctail hour!!!
Please help!

Snowboardgirl: At first I was concerned about the time between the church and reception and thought I should change it to 6:30, I still may do so, but I feel like 6:30 and 7:00 doesn't make that much of a difference and I could probably use the extra half hour. My FH's house is a few blocks from the church and I was going to have my Mom and his Dad host a little pre-cocktail party at the house for the in between. Also, alot of our guests are locals who may chose to go home and get ready for the reception after the church.

I think you'll have enough time too. I was going crazy with scheduling and when I met with my photography company, they said that we'd have enough time for pics and be able to make the cocktail hour. They're good at that. I would talk to your photographer and see what he/she has to say.
I'm not going to see FH before the ceremony. He lives next door though, so he has to get his butt out of here early! I don't how I'm going to keep myself from peeking out my window to see him.

I think you'll have plenty of time if you are taking pictures at your reception hall. I am not seeing my FH before the ceremony. I want him to see me for the first time when I walk down the aisle. He doesn't want to see me before then either. We only have about 1 1/2 hours between our ceremony and our cocktail hour and the church is about 20 minutes away. I REALLY wanted to take pics at the planting fields, but I guess we will have to take them at the Fox Hollow if we want to make it to the cocktail hour. I don't want to miss a minute of the cocktail hour! I wish I could have more time in between but we are having an afternoon wedding and even if the church would let us I don't think I could handle having the ceremony any earlier than 11am!

My photographer said it would be fine too.

I am not going to see Dale before the ceremony even though the time for picture taking is shorter. What we plan on doing is having him come to my house with the best man and ushers before so he can take pictures with the girls and vice versa. I saw this on A Wedding Story. The groom waited in the basement while she took her pics.... I thought is was a great idea...

I think you may be cutting it a little close. I would try to get an extra 1/2 in there... just to make sure - you're able to get all the pics you want. JMO
