23 days before the wedding....and I have to look for a new hair and makeup person who not only is available on my day, but is willing to travel to me and not have a minimum.
Let me explain...I called my hair & makeup girls to find out when I need people at the hotel by to get done. They tell me 9am. I cringed. I knew that this was going to be a major problem for everyone because everyone is scattered all over the place, and no one is close by.
Sure enough, I called all my my BMs and my MOH. NONE OF THEM ARE WILLING TO BE THERE AT 9AM. They won't even crash over the night before at the room which I am paying for. They won't even do it when I'm paying for half the hair & makeup bill. I realize they all have children under 3 years old, so it's an issue. But damn, if it was up to me, I would do whatever I had to do. And of course FH is no help, because he just says well, pay them in full for the 3 person minimum whether they have 3 people to work on or not. I said why should I pay unnecessarily?? He just doesn't get it.
I'm at a loss. I am spent. It's like everytime something good happens, something bad follows.
Do I just pay the $600 that would cover the 3 person minimum and just see who shows up to get hair and makeup done later on and hope the artists stick around long enough?? Or do I just attempt to find someone else at this stage of the game?
UPDATE: I spoke to Jenn via IMs. She said how we can break it down is like this:
One girl shows up at 9:30, they will start on her makeup, and my hair. Another shows at 10:00, another at 10:30, and another at 11:00. If my neice wants her hair done she comes at 11:30 and my SIL who is getting ready beforehand can be there at 12.
Well the BM who has to be there at 10:30 starts b!tching about it, saying it's too early!!!! WTH!!!
So basically I told her her BF can crash in the hotel room if necessary (he has to work overnight the night before and is driving her) or they can get a room for themselves and I'll pay for it.
She finally said she will reserve a room so he can sleep and she can arrive on time.

9:30 is not that early! My girls have to be at my house at like 6 - and they are scattered all over and they are all getting there. I would explain your situation to your BMs and MOH before looking for a new makeup artist/hair person. You don't need this extra stress - and I am mad for you at your bridal party for not being more supportive and helpful. to you.

I'm so sorry that you have to deal with this. My girls showed up between 6:30 and 7 - are you kidding me?????? Would it help if I came by? I'll get my hair done and I'll pay for it myself!

Oh my goodness - this makes me so mad!
This is why having a bridal party really stinks sometimes - they end up makes things more difficult instead of helping! i agree with Johnsae - tell them to frickin be there a 9 AM! But if push comes to shove, maybe post on the vendor board and see if anyone is available for just you before you pay $600 to do your own hair and makeup.

OMG... in this situation, they should be accomodating you... not the other way around! This is your day! And it's hard enough getting everything scheduled as it is - without having to worry about your BP's BEAUTY SLEEP! I'm glad, at least, that the situation is better than yesterday and you don't have to search for new hair and makeup people. I hope you're NOT paying for that extra room for your BM!

Janna, I'm so sorry you're going through this. I would send out an email asking very nicely if your BMs and MOH could plan to stay with you in the room the night before the wedding so they can have their hair done at the necessary time. Two of my BMs and my MOH are staying the night with me, and that is how we are working it out. But then again, they are all OOT like me. If your BMs have someone to watch the children during the wedding, I'm sure they can have that person watch the children the night before too (I assume it is family and not a babysitter). I would try one more time to talk to them and see if they will do this for you. It really is too late in the game for them to be pulling this crap.

I agree! Call them and tell them this is the time and that's it. I have not had a complaint (yet) but hair for all of us is at 11am, photo at 2:30, church at 5pm. Good Luck sweetie! Sorry your girls are not understanding with so litle time. Good luck and make sure they make it up to you after the wedding
