Help! Extensions!

I'll be needing extensions for the day of the wedding but my hair lady is charging alot for them ($200 just for the extensions, doesn't include her fee for doing my hair)... I don't know what the going rate for extensions are so I don't know if that's a normal price but it's not within my budget

SOOOO, Is it ok to buy them myself at a place like sally beauty for cheaper and ask her to use those?? Or is that considered rude?

And if it is ok, what should I look for, I want very natural looking ones made of human hair...

hi! i think it depends on what kind of extensions.

a while back i had the strand by strand type put in my hair, which took 6 hours and cost.... well, ill slap myself if i actually admit it out loud (way too much for my own good).

then another type is where you can clip them in, and the price for that varies depending on the length and quality of hair (various human hair types) and or synthetic.

then there is the type that hairdressers sew it in or glue it in.

extensions cost a lot, i used them until my hair finally out grew the length of the extensions. what length and color are you looking for? because i still have the clip on ones i used to use, its about 22 inches long human hair in black.

if you still cant find anyone in your price range, you can do a few things.

hit up the closest beauty school and speak to the teacher in charge and im sure they can have one of the more experienced students help you.

Or, you can probably get the extensions done ahead of time (sewn in or glued in) and then go to which ever hair dresser youd like.
you can find amazing hair dressers who specialize in these extensions all over the place, harlem, bronx, brooklyn. There are awesome African salons that do them, however you ask for a weave (which is the same thing).

go to an ethnic beauty supply and buy the best quality human hair that matched your color and glue them in

thats what i did..it took about 20 minutes ( BM did it the night before) and the hair was only $30
