I love THE WAY YOU LOOK TONIGHT by Frank Sinatra...unfortunately, my fiance wanted it for his dance with his mother...he won :-)

Kate,

If you don't want anything mushy, how about "You Are the Sunshine of my Life" by Stevie Wonder (I may use that too - family joke).

I don't want to start a crying-fest either which is usually inevitable. "The Way You Look Tonight" is a great suggestion by Glory. I happen to like the Tony Bennett version that's on "My Best Friend's Wedding" soundtrack....

Do you know the song "You are my special angel" it is an oldie...from that era I believe. That's a great one.

"What a wonderful world" by Louis Armstrong is a great slow song and not very mushy.

Thanks, Cynthia :-)

I had the same problem, didn't want anything to mushy. I went on the amazon.com website and search for titles with Dad and father.

My Father's eyes, Amy Grant (?) A song for my daughter

We're torn between What a Wonderful World and At Last by Etta James as our wedding song. I love both of them.

I just realized I didn't put the year. It's not till June 1, 2001. Acutally I was hoping you could fill me in after your day! Which room did you book?

Song: What I did at my wedding

I let my dad pick it and went with his suggestion. He ended up choosing my parents wedding song - Because of You by Tony Bennett.

I customized so many parts of the day so I thought it was nice to let him have 'his moment'.... and it made him feel very special.

I understand completely. My mother died when I was 5 and quite honestly, she was the one true love of my dad's life. He never got over her...and its been 24 years since she's been gone....Dancing to their song was his way of having her with us that day.

But I'm not suggesting you use anything from their wedding. Just that you might want to just let the parents, or in this case your dad, choose the song you 2 will dance to. It might make him feel special - his gift to you....I didn't think the Tony Bennett song was much of a tune to dance to, but it worked b/c it had meaning.

Besides, I was so focused on making sure he didn't cry that I didn't even hear the music! :o)

go to http://www.tvguideonline.com - you can search for the show according to your area/what cable provider you use. I think it is on Sat afternoons, but also at different times as well....I get misty at all the wedding stories too. I love watching it. How are you doing - 3 weeks to go right??

The demo made me almost cry so I figured that was a good sign. My cousin used them for her photography and videographer and loved them.
