Help! Father/Daughter song -We are not 'close'

Hi Ladies,

I have seen it before but cant find the thread.

I am not CLOSE with my dad but we have a good relationship.

Im not Daddy's little girl, and I dont, exactly look up to him (wind beaneath my wings).

The only thing I can really come up with is 'over the rainbow'....

This is what we used...My dad and I have never had a great relationship...i thought it was just a nice song that reflected what we 'should' feel about each other lol

unfortunately, my dad is sick, so he can't dance with me :( But we were going to dance to that song 'I'll be seeing you' -- it's really pretty and non descrip in lyrics. There is a version by Michael Buble.

I'll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces
All day through.

In that small cafe;
The park across the way;
The children's carousel;
The chestnut trees;
The wishin' well.

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day;
In every thing that's light and gay.
I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you
In the morning sun
And when the night is new.
I'll be looking at the moon,
But I'll be seeing you.

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day;
In every thing that's light and gay.
I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you
In the morning sun
And when the night is new.
I'll be looking at the moon,
But I'll be seeing you

I have the same issue with my dad. He's going to be at the wedding but in the role of more as a guest than my father.

However, we are doing a dance together. I have picked Always on My Mind (the Elvis version).

LMAO OMG I'm so in the same boat as you. I asked my dad what song he wants and he suggested 'Daddy's Little Girl', but I think that's b/c that was all he could think of. He also asked if I had any suggestions, but I'm not close to him so it was hard to think of. My brother's have been more of the father figures in my life than he was. I'm still trying to figure this out myself. Ugh, what to do!

OMG this song always makes me want to cry and knowing that your dad is sick too, makes it even more of a tear jerker. I'm tearing up already...

yeah, unfortunately the dance really can't happen - he's going through chemo and is just too weak. Our goal is him walking me down the aisle! I read the lyrics and I want to cry, too. :(

I am in the SAME boat and I really liked My Wish- Rascall Flats-- I'm also not dancing to the ENTIRE song, I'm going to have it cut kind of short.

This is my issue as well, thank you for posting the question.

I danced to 'All For You' Sister Hazel with my father. We don't have a close relationship either. My original picks were either Stand By You' Pretenders or 100 Years Five For Fighting but ended up with Sister Hazel.

I had a similar situation...I chose just the way you are by billy joel. I thought it made sense...bc even though are relationship is the way it is and he is the way he is...the song says that I love him just the way he is despite all of that...which is true!

This is the song my father picked for us just a couple of days ago, but we actually are close. My issue is that I'm NOT demonstrative and I'm generally uncomfortable showing public emotion, so I asked him to pick a song that wasn't too mushy....and it works, because I can't change who I am, but he still loves me 'just the way' I am.

My Grandpa was really sick and undergoing chemo for my sweet 16, but we REALLY wanted to dance together, So i literally danced with him in a wheelchair and it was PERFECT. maybe not ideal, but it woiuld still be amazing none the less. Maybe something to think about
