HELP FH needs a new wedding band! w/ UPDATE

Original post by Clover23

I just made him try it on and it slipped right off without even doing anything. It's an 11.5 and we just measured his finger and he needs a 10.5. There's no way he's taking this one on the HM. So we need to get a cheaper one like today. Where can we go? (not tri-county. preferably near roosevelt field bc i will be at work most of the day)
thanks!
***UPDATE***
I went to Zales in the source mall - they were great, very helpful, cleaned my e-ring for me. I got him a tungsten band size 10.5.
yep, it's too big, falling off.
i guess they do run small. big. whichever.
so now he's working the next 3 days and we can't go til thursday. but neither of them will work, even for the ceremony. they fall right off.

and they wouldn't resize his original band bc it has a milgrain edge and it might get distorted.

Fh got his titanium ring from here for $69 no tax and free shipping and it came in like 3 days, he loves it. although you may have to expedite shipping.
they are great to deal too!

thanks. the problem is that we have no idea what size he needs. his finger is definitely a 10.5 but the 10.5 is HUGE. i just don't want to chance buying another one w/o him trying it on. grr.

maybe take a ring that fits him on that finger to a jeweler and have them measure a new ring against that one. sorry you are going through this. it ***** to have added, unnecessary stress.

but if your FH doesn't really care about the miligrain edge on his original ring, it might just be easier to have it resized. when my Fh bought his band, i guess he was hot so his finger was swollen and then a couple months later when he tried it on it was too big. but his ring has a special edging too and he had to go to 2 jewelers before finding someone who would resize it for him. and it looks perfect. you cant even tell it was resized.

they can size the ring even if it has milgrain and all, we do at my store all the time. you just have to have a good jeweler.

can they resize the tungston? if not, have any jeweler puts beads in one of them. might not be the best alternative long-term but it will be enough to keep it snug for the wedding.
