I am looking for a church to have my wedding ceremony, but I absolutly want to be able to have my flower girls throw rose petals down the aisle and also have my guest throw rose petals as my fiance and I exit the church after the ceremony. Im not really picky with the type of church, but it must be a church. Every place I call has told me no right off the bat. HELP PLEASE!

Hmm..I'm not sure how much luck you are going to have. For safety reasons, I know a lot of churches now frown upon rose petals.

Re: Help finding a church!
My church didn't allow it per say but I was lucky b/c my Deacon told me I could go against the grain within reason, like you all I wanted was the petals and was able to do it as long as someone picked them up. I think if you build a relationship with someone at a specific church they may let you...do you have a family parish? My church was Our Lady of Grace in West Babylon and my Deacon was Brian Miller.
You can also have the mindset of having your FG do it anyway...what are they going to do at that point anyway?? stop the wedding!!!??

I was told no by my church. I am doing bubbles for after the ceremony. However, I going to have my flower girl dropped pedals. God forgives right!

We cant have petals thrown inside or out and cant even have an aisle runner!! all this upsets me soooo much because its just things girls dream of for their wedding day

I know. You pay all this money(DONATION) and yet you cant do anything. My church even said the shoulders need to be covered. Well thats the one thing they're not gonna have control over. SORRY. For the half hour I'm in there, they can deal with it.

Re: Help finding a church!
Hey! Check this link out www.thehistoricalchapel.com. I received an email a while back but I had already booked my church (its a chapel though not a church). FM me if you want me to forward you the email with their contact information and the discount they were offering. As for the actual church, I'm having my flower girl throw flower petals anyway- I don’t care if I have to bring a broom and sweep them up myself after the ceremony - It will def make for some interesting pictures hahaha! I think St. Patrick’s church in Glencove allows you to throw petals for a cleanup fee (ask some churches about this as a possible option; you never know). Also try picking out a couple of churches to go see on a Saturday (I did a church tour bc my original choice double booked me- horrible experience with the priest) and I’m pretty sure I saw a couple of churches with petals on the ground; granted this may have not been allowed ;) I think it was St. Mary's in East Islip and St. Joseph's in Babylon FYI - this was the church that double booked me, the priest to be exact but not a great experience with St. Jo's and total lack of accountability for their mistake - I booked it 2.5 years in advance!!) But hey there’s a reason for everything... Also check this website out http://www.mychurchandtown.com/mct/ it will make your search for churches easier as far as websites and contact info. Best of luck! I hope this helped!!! Let me know if you need the info about the chapel and such. =)
