I'm getting married in May 2010 and I need a dj!!! We looked at Body Rock and Satisfaction Guaranteed. We liked the both and both were around the same price (we're going to try to talk them down!) We also heard about High Voltage from a friend. Does anyone have any information on these 3 djs? I want to know what you really think about them! Thank you in advance for all your help!!

Re: Help finding a DJ
I used Body Rock and I was so happy with them. At some points in the day they had 75 % of my guests on the dance floor. They were great !

I am using In style Djs formally Feel The Vibe. styledjs.com> dealt with Edwin. He did my FSIL wedding and he was Fabulous>>> very high energy and easy to deal with if you are on a budget.

Re: Help finding a DJ
I dont know if your from LI or not and Im not sure that totally matters with the DJ... I mean meeting with them and making the deposit you'd have to come to BK but if thats not an issue for you or your from here... Im from Brooklyn and the best DJ around is Classy Sounds BUT they can be a bit pricey... There is also G & G Entertainment (That is who I am using) and he is AMAZING and hes a GREAT guy... I went to a few parties he did and I didnt leave the dance floor ALL NIGHT!
If you want info on either or FM me =))

Re: Help finding a DJ
I met with Body Rock and FM. I liked them both but ultimately did not book with Body Rock. What turned me off to Body Rock was a few things. 1 the lady said you do not meet or know who your DJ is until the wedding. She actually said to us 'some people don't like this idea or have problems with it... but what can I say this is how we have been doing business for 19 years and it works for us!'. So that was a little bit of a red flag for me. It wasn't even so much that you didn't get to meet or know the DJ or MC... it was the way she put it. I got the feeling that down the road if I wanted something that they didn't do... then so what because that's how that company works and they wouldn't be willing to do something differently for us. It was just negative in that aspect. I want to book vendors who are willing to go above and beyond and do things closer to how you want them done, if that makes sense. Then she was asking about what type of music we like and what the majority of the crowd will be. So I responded with 3 different generations and types of music... and I also mentioned my friends are probably the largest crowd there... and they like some rock etc so I would want to put some of that in there too (obviously I want dance music and all etc). Well, she IMMEDIATELY shot me down with rock, saying no one will get up and dance to that.. and then started mentioning more Heavy Metal type of music (which wasn't even what we were talking about). Not only did I feel a little insulted but also I felt like they weren't looking to customize it to our likings enough and I definately did not like when she just shot down some music that I would want played at my wedding. My impression of them wasn't horrific... but there were some definate red flags that I totally did not get from FM Entertainment! HTH.
