HELP GIRLS... I have a little bet with DH regarding Destination Weddings!

Back story: We were talking about how all oh his brother's friends have had destination weddings and I bet his brother will too
He's like 'Awesome!' and goes on to say how when people have destination weddings they pay for everyone to stay and stuff all you have to pay for is your flight.
I say other wise - Don't you have to pay for everything (like flight AND HOTEL)??? And I immediately said, 'I'll ask the wedding experts over at LIW...'
So who's gone to a destination wedding, and what did you pay for???

Ive never heard of the bride and groom paying for anything other than your plate ! : )

My sister got married in the Bahamas 2/20/10.

Everyone paid for everything themselves! airfare, hotel ect.

I am going to one in miami and the only thing she is providing besides a discounted hotel rate and the wedding is sunday brunch (aka she is not offering anything more than i am ) and i am now doing a destination. not even a welcome dinner!

We thought about having a destination wedding. When we talked about it my mom said she would pay for flights for our guests but not for the room. But that was her, had we gone through with it we would not pay.

The thing about destination weddings is if you have one you know only people really close to you are going to attend. Thats the big plus for it.
