Help!! Gotta make some Ceremony and Reception Hall Decisions!!!

Hello Everyone- I just came up from Atlanta to look at ceremony locations and I am trying to decide what I should go with... All opinions will be helpful :) I looked at Milleridge Cottage, Watermill, and Rivieria. Here are my concerns... If you have any comments regarding them please let me know!!

Mileridge - I loved this facility. The atrium was beautiful!!! I loved that area... My only question would be I really wanted to have an outdoor wedding... And I wanted to know if anyone had experience there??? Was Jericho Turnpike really loud?? What are your opinions on it?

Watermill - This facilities outside grounds were beautiful! If I had to have it outside.... I would love it.. The only concern was if I had to have it inside it would need to be inside in the vandi room... and it would be a lil dark b/c there are no windows...

Rivieria - The waterfront is beautiful there!! We were really impressed about how it looked outside... I wasn't too impressed if we had to do the ceremony inside... Also, I just felt they didn't really keep up the facility... When we went on a Thursday.. They still had the cloths on the table from another event with stains on it... and some of the chafing dishes in the bridal suite still had water in from something that happened this weekend... I mean it was beautiful.. just minor issues...

I don't know... If I could take the building of Milleridge, with grounds of Watermill, and add the waterfront of Rivieria.. I would have a BEAUTIFUL PLACE!!! Help!!!

I have never seen any of these in person, but i ama huge waterfront fan, so I would go with the Riviera for that reason.

I've been to weddings at all three of them. This is my honest opinion of each:

Milleridge: Didn't see an outdoor wedding so I don't know but I have been to 2 weddings there and both times the food was fantastic. Lots of room and the service is good. The only problem I found, well 2: no valet (which either is or isn't a big deal to you) and the other bigger deal to me is that CH can be a little tight if you are having a big wedding.

Watermill: Really nice there, love the decor. I've been to 2 weddings there and one, the food was great, the other the food was not good. They both had the same type of package so I don't think it was a 'get what you pay for' type of scenario.

Riviera: AWESOME outdoor CH, would be great for an outdoor ceremony...but the whole thing is, you have to have a nice day there. Otherwise, it's small and cramped in there. The food was really good and their raw bar was great. I personally didn't like the way the room was set up. I was behind a wall at my friend's wedding so I couldn't see the dance floor. If you are having more than 150 people, I don't think that's the right spot.

Again, this is all based on my experience and certainly not meant to offend anyone. If I had to pick, I'd go with the Milleridge. Good luck!

Ive never seen any of those places. BUT if your only problem with a place was that there were dirty napkins and tableclothes left from a previous party, i wouldnt base it on that...For your wedding they're going to clean it up, it wont be like that...Its ok if when theres no party they didn't clean up completely, alot of places do this.

I guess i'm biased I would say go with the Watermill...been there for 2 weddings and both times service/food/atmosphere was great...both parties (as well as ours will be) were in the Vanderbilt room...

We've also been to a wedding at the Mileridge Inn...you didn't hear Jericho Turnpike at all...

Never been to the Rivieria

I have not been to a wedding at any of these places-but we checked out all of them, and if you are considering having an outdoor wedding, I would go with The Riviera. They were super nice, and the place was beautiful-it was just too small for us.

I recommend checking out the Westbury Manor. The reception hall is beautiful, and it opens up into well-kept gardens with a fountain and large patio. It also has a pretty area outside for the ceremony.
I've also heard that the Swan Club has pretty gardens, although I've never been there.
The Venetian Yaght Club is very nice and it is right on the water.

well FH and I went to look at Milleridge and this is just my opinion, but we found it to be really rundown (the planters outside were filthy and all turned over, chairs had rips in them, the paint was literally peeling off the building, basically it looked like things hadn't been updated in a LONG time) so I wouldn't suggest them.

Watermill is gorgeous. I went to a wedding there last year and it was amazing - very beautiful inside and out, great service, teh food was good, they kept teh drinks coming all night -

im not familiar with Riviera

I have been to weddings at the Milleridge and Watermill. I have to say the food at the Watermill was great...especially CH. As a guest there, I didn't really pay attention to the fact that there were no windows in the room. When we looked there for our wedding though, it was a negative for us too.

Milleridge was also great. That atrium is gorgeous and gives you an outdoor-feel. Jericho was not noticeable at all. Food was also good! As for the outside appearance..it def looked like it could use some work, but the inside is very nice and I don't think guests pay too much attention to that stuff...especially once the wedding gets underway.

I know you are not local, but the Venetian might have everything you are looking for. May be worth checking out!

i LOVE LOVE the riviera... FH and i looked at that too (i've also been to a wedding there) the only thing i didnt like about it was that it only fits 195 people & thats WITH tables on the dancefloor.... so if you are having that size wedding, i wouldnt suggest it... but if u are having a small wedding, go for it!! i've never seen a ceremony there so im not sure how that is, but when my cousin got married there it was a BEAUTIFUL day and the outside was AMAZING!!!!! they also take really nice pictures inside and out

My cousin had her wedding at the millridge outdoors and it was one of the best weddings we've been to. The turnpike was not an issue. The CH was great and spacious (they opened the cottage up as well you being able to walk outdoors). Its beautiful there.

One of our 2nd choices was the Watermill. We loved it but did not choose it because they did not do ceremony on site on Saturday evenings. I did think the outdoor ceremony location was a lot smaller than Milleridge. but i dont think you could go wrong if you chose it.

We checked out the Riviera too but was not to our liking.

I'm partial to the watermill for obvious reasons

but i looked at the riviera too. if you are going for outdoors, it's great. however, if your wedding will be big, it's definitely a tough setup.

Mileridge - I loved the Milleridge and probably would've booked there but FH didn't like it. He really didn't like the water tower (mind you are reception is at night or Jericho Tpke). Plus for a saturday night they wanted us to guarantee more than we wanted to. I loved the decor of this place though.

Watermill - I went to a wedding here that was very nice. The outdoor cocktail hour was beautiful. We shared the area with another wedding (they were on other side but visible) but I'm a cresthollow bride so clearly multiple weddings doesn't bother me. We were in the downstairs room, but it didn't seem dark.

Rivieria - Sorry, I've never seen the Rivieria.

Milleridge- Pretty, we did not hear anything from Jericho Turnpike. I haven't gone to a wedding there, but a bridal showcase. I thought the place was beautiful.

I booked with the swan club because I just loved the grounds. I would love my guests to walk through the gardens for pictures by the harbor. The food their is great and there are large windows in the rooms. It's a great place for a rain or shine wedding too! It's just a bright and sunny place for an afternoon wedding.

I just got married at the Watermill - the ceremony was inside and it was amazing! It didn't seem dark to me at all. There are a couple of ceremony pics in my albums.

have you thought about looking at bridgeview yacht club? Chateu la mer? Crecesnt beach club? They sound like what you are looking for.

I have been to the Millridge and have never had a good experience there personally and recently my friend went and the food was 'not good.'
i have not been to watermill but heard good things.
I did NOT have a good experience at the Rivieria when we went looking. similar to yours but worse.
If these are the only three choices i'd say watermill. but if u have time - i'd keep searching- you'll know when u find the one.

good luck < 3
