Help!! Gotta make some Ceremony and Reception Hall Decisions!!!
Original post by aiyanaj
Hello Everyone- I just came up from Atlanta to look at ceremony locations and I am trying to decide what I should go with... All opinions will be helpful :) I looked at Milleridge Cottage, Watermill, and Rivieria. Here are my concerns... If you have any comments regarding them please let me know!!
Mileridge - I loved this facility. The atrium was beautiful!!! I loved that area... My only question would be I really wanted to have an outdoor wedding... And I wanted to know if anyone had experience there??? Was Jericho Turnpike really loud?? What are your opinions on it?
Watermill - This facilities outside grounds were beautiful! If I had to have it outside.... I would love it.. The only concern was if I had to have it inside it would need to be inside in the vandi room... and it would be a lil dark b/c there are no windows...
Rivieria - The waterfront is beautiful there!! We were really impressed about how it looked outside... I wasn't too impressed if we had to do the ceremony inside... Also, I just felt they didn't really keep up the facility... When we went on a Thursday.. They still had the cloths on the table from another event with stains on it... and some of the chafing dishes in the bridal suite still had water in from something that happened this weekend... I mean it was beautiful.. just minor issues...
I don't know... If I could take the building of Milleridge, with grounds of Watermill, and add the waterfront of Rivieria.. I would have a BEAUTIFUL PLACE!!! Help!!!

Thanks so much for your help!!!! This has been so helpful!!!!!!!!!! I have to try to make a decision by this weekend... so I think I'm going to check out Swan Club... but right now I'm leaning toward Milleridge... I'll keep you posted :)
I LOVE the SWAN CLUB!! went to a wedding there a few years ago. it was completely beautiful and the food was good. i had a ball. reasonably priced too.
i would have went there but since my friend got married there i couldnt because in my head thats 'lisa's wedding' not 'my wedding' i needed a place i have never been before. hopefully i do not get invited to any JT weddings in the next year and 1/2 LOL well, especially not in MY room. it would mess with my head...its a bit weird issue, i know.. annnnyway..
let us know what u end up picking!

Watermill is great for outdoor ceremony. But if you have more that 150 or so the space is too small for the reception. I know it's hard from out of town but keep looking - you just know when you find the right space.

I had my reception at the Milleridge, can't give you info on a ceremony there, though. The Milleridge Cottage was GREAT. Our reception was fantastic. The weather was nice so people were outside and inside for the cocktail hour. Our guests are still talking (over 6 months later) about how great it was. I don't think I have any complaints about them.

The Milerage is a great place and it is family owned and run. I have been to many functions there. These people are really nice AND they do a great job. One word of advice: Please be careful when signing your contract, read the fine print carefully no matter where you book--especially in Nassau County.
