Help--haven't gotten my proofs

Hi Ladies,
I haven't posted my wedding review because I was waiting to get my proofs. I was so excited to post it, it's about 7 pages. But I really wanted to include the photos to go along with everything.
Anyway, it's now six weeks since my wedding and still no proofs. I call the photographers every week asking when I am going to get them, and all they tell me is that they are really busy this time of year. At three weeks, they said I'll have it in 4 weeks, at 5 weeks they said, next week. I emailed them yesterday and still have not heard back.
I am scheduling a meeting with my lawyer, but it just really upsets me. I have no pictures to see, nothing to show my family or friends.
I feel like one of those pathetic brides on those news shows.
Anyway, I’ll post my review, as soon as I have some amateur pics to include.

do they have a location you can actually GO to and put up a stink?

I would send them a certified letter saying if you dont get your proofs by a certain date you are going to take the appropriate actions.

It has been 6 weeks…I know it seems like a long time, but most photographers do take 4-8 weeks to get the proofs to you…do you really think legal action is necessary?

I would go to their office, but I live in the city now, and they are on LI. And I've asked what they're Manhattan hours are, but they haven't responded to my question.
I've been trying to contact them, and I am just getting the run around. A strongly worded letter from my lawyer will get me the answers I need, if not my pictures. And I've spoken to other photographers, and even in their peak season it doesn't take more than 2 weeks. So 6 weeks is not normal.
I don't know what to do. It's really upsetting. I still haven't seen ANY pictures from my wedding. Do you know how that feels to a newlywed?
I'm just praying nothing happened to my proofs.

My photographer said 6 weeks as well... I'm dying to see some, i know how you feel...hang in there, they will get them to you I'm sure...

I am sure it will work out for both of you...

I called them and spoke with them regarding picking up my engagement pictures. They responded right away and I picked them up. The emailing wasn't working with me so I called. They are really nice, I wouldn't worry, just give them a call again. You should say you are going away or something and would like to bring the pictures with you, etc.
