Just wondering how many details everyone got from their florist. Mine showed me pictures but nothing that is going to look exactly as what I am getting. We are doing a mock CP so I'm not concerned about that, but my Mom was asking questions about the 2 additional pieces that I got for the placecard table and entrance table. Details like how are certain flowers going to mixed together and how they are spaced apart. I know what she is saying, but I kind of just thought that I should leave it to the pros. Was anyone else REALLY specific with their florist???
I know what flowers will be in the pieces and about what style they should be, but not exact.

My florist didn't get specific with me either, just the type of flowers and how they would be arranged (cascading, etc..)

but no i didn't ask how spaced will the flowers be. I know the details and what i know is basically as much as i need to know.

Vito from Pedestals actually pulled out the flowers that I liked and started putting them together on my first meeting.My wedding isn't until October, but I've already seen a sample of everything. I would definitely have them tell you EXACTLY what you will be getting for your money... it's really the least they can do. GL!

Extremely detailed, checked everything off on the contract, showed me pictures of what it'll look like, showed me the flowers he was going to use, and told me to make an appointment to come back to for a sample centerpeice.
Also, I can visit their florist the day before to see my boquet, and if I dont like it, they'll work on it.

I'm anal so I want to know what flowers are definitely going to be in the arrangements, what flowers wont even be near my arrangements and how many of the main flowers.

I'm not concerned about the CP's. I added 2 larger arrangements, one with hanging tea lights for the place card table and a very different one for the entrance table where they serve the champagne. He showed me a few styles and I told him which ones I liked and didn't but he just told me what flowers would be in the piece. So that's what I mean when I say I have an idea of the style but not the exact one they are going to make for me. Am I making any sense, I know it's wierd to explain. He hand wrote everything on his copy of the contract and it is soo jumbled, but for some reason I trust him. I have seen his work for several other parties and it was absolutely beautiful.

i got a sample CP before I booked and pics of all the flowers she intends on using on the contract....if you trust the florist then just go with it, in the scheme of things if its beautiful does it really matter???

Absolutely not, you are totally right and I agree. I just feel insecure when I get these questions from people and then don't have an answer. It makes me feel unprepared or unorganized. Ahhh weddings are craziness, thanks for the replies girls!!!

well mine was very vague in the beginning., but he still told me exactly what I was getting., but when we finalized we went through everything.....top to bottom...you have plenty of time.

I don't know exactly what my CP's look like but, I gave them a pic of a bo'k that I want mine to look like. So, I'm hoping they do exact. It is a bit intricate!

i have no idea whats my pieces are going to look like. my florsit was talking and raving about what types of flowers and colors hes going to be using and i just smiled and nodded. i have no clue about flowers.

Eh don't stress...if you don't HAVE TO have an exact flower then don't even worry...trust the pros...you'll have enough to stress over- trust me!!!
I'm a flower nut (hippie)- so I was specific but it was mostly to save $$ too, so that's why i knew and planned down to the detail. If its reasonably priced then go with the pro...or call em and have em pull ur file

dont know anything about my flowers, but then again my mom is my florist....shes done a ton of weddings so im not worried at all...but if you are booking someone they should show you EXACTLY what you are getting :)

i went to the appt knowing what flowers i wanted...our florist added some suggestions which i loved and he actually quickly made a trail CP while we were there

Well I ve seen 7 florist, and was not to happy with the confidence level of 6.
By the time I saw my 3rd florist, I had an idea of what i wanted, but I also wanted their input, because W_T_F i never planned a wedding before, nor have i ever ordered CP's.
So, when i saw florist # 7 (flower barn) , I was prepared with: Magazine Cut-outs LIW Review Pintouts A color swatch and a list of things I must have eg: a round french clutch bouquet with more than 30 roses hot pink water in the vases ( he added crushed glass) CP's atleasr 5' tall with a budget of $1500.00 and he was able to meet that, with a lil over I also asked for a sample CP before i booked.
things like that, so just be prepared when you go in.
