Yesterday my cat walked across my keyboard and now the main fingerpad and buttons don't do anything. I can still use my laptop by using the little red finger mouse on the keyboard, and the other set of buttons, but I'm really used to using the main set. I hope this makes sense -- let me know if it doesnt.
DH said there's usually a setting that will 'lock' the lower touchpad/buttons, the top ones, or leave them both open. I tried to figure it out on my own but no luck.
Anyone deal with this before or know what I can do to fix it? I have an IBM thinkpad
(I'm not entirely sure the cat changed my settings, it could be some separate computer problem but I'm being hopeful)

not sure if it will work, but here are some options...
hit the 'pause/break' key or hit the 'scroll lock' key or you may need to use your Function keys to unlock (blue fn key & one of the F# keys)
