Help, huge gap between ceremony and CH

Does anyone have like 3-4 hours between ceremony ending and thier cocktail hours. What should my guests do for 3 and a half hours????

my sister had a chunk of time in between- guests went back to the hotel and then the bus picked them all up and drove them to the reception - she had a TON of out-of-towners. I don't think it's as big of a deal as some people may think- people can change, relaz and get ready to celebrate YOUR BIG DAY!!!

We do. We couldn't get the 3pm church time we wanted, so our mass is at 1pm & our CH isn't until 7 (we were able to push it up from 730!)

To be honest I'm not very worried about our guests, those that live on LI will have time to go home, relax/change--others may go to a diner or such.

For you guys it means more time for pics, etc.

It'll work out, people will find something to do.

A friend of mine had a lot of time inbetween. Her parents had there house open for anyone who wanted a place to go inbetween. Her parents and the bridal party wern't there because we were taking pictures at a park but I know a lot of people did go there to relax and get changed. They had finger foods out for people.

My ceremony is at 2:30 (civil - should only last 1/2 hour) and CH starts at 7:00PM. They'll all figure it out on their own.

Same for me. Originally I was concerned also but I figure its better to have more time than not enough

In your case, you could provide directions to Port Jeff (it's nice to walk around down there) or to the mall just to kill some time.

I was just going to write this---most of them went to the hotel and either napped, went in the pool, or watched baseball at the hotel bar....

It really was fine and gave us plenty of time for pics...I didn't want it this way originally but we were sooo glad we had the time we did!

We also have this. Our ceremony is at 1:30 (trying to push it to 2) and reception doesnt start until 7:30. My parents are going to host an open house in between, but I think most people will go home to change or back to the hotel.

Same situation here...

Ceremony 2:30 (civil - max 45 mins)
Cocktail Hour 7pm

Most of the OOTs are Family and I'm asking them to meet us at the hall at 6pm for pictures.. Everyone else can figure out their own thing -

Our church is at 2pm and our CH starts at 6pm. We figure guests will go back to the hotel and get ready in the interim (and everyone else who lives close by can just go home and get ready).

It is not uncommon these days. - my church is at 2:30 and the coctail hour begins at 7 - i will have something back at the hotel for the oot guests to kill some time.

It is no big deal
