Hi Everyone! I am soooo stressed out. This is a second marriage for us and we didn't want to spend a fortune. We have about 125 people and want a pretty room with great food. So far we liked Tivoli Terrace, Manor East and the Holiday Inn in Plainview. I have no clue about the food there. Anyone been to an affair at these places??? Any suggestions?? I really appreciate any feedback you might have...Thanks...Jackie

I can't offer any input about the places you mentioned. However, just as a suggestion, a girl I know just got married at the Brentwood Country Club who offers a package for under $10,000 and she was thrilled with how everything turned out.

We had out reception at the Manor East almost 2 years ago and everything was out of this world. If you want to see pics, let me know.

If you don't mind driving more out East, I would suggest Larkfield Manor or The Meadow Club in Port Jefferson Station. I was actually recommended to these 2 places since they were reasonably priced. Supposedly my co-worker got married at the Meadow Club for less than $50pp. I never been there so I'm not sure about the food. Hope this helps!

Re: HELP!! I can't pick a catering hall!!
We had narrowed it down to Tivoli Terrace and Manor East. We went to both for food tastings. The food was sooooo much better at Tivoli so we are doing it there on Saturday night. It's not cheap but my sis got married there and they took really great care of her and there is only one affair at a time AND there is a chapel downstairs which they are throwing in at no extra charge!!! The place is beautiful and I know it will be great! One problem I had with Manor East was that everything was on different floors and I didn't want the guests going up and down 3 different levels. I already booked a great DJ, Photographer and Videographer..need inexpensive invitations & florist too and I better start looking for a dress!!!

i went to a party at Tivoli. IMO it was so-so. How about The Swan Club? I did something there in college for about $65/pp.
