Help I don't know where to start
Before I got engaged I thought I knew what I wanted as far as wedding details but I'm so overwhelmed with all the info I'm finding that I'm scared to proceed!!!What's the best thing to tackle first? Any suggestion? (Dress? hair? hall?)
Thx!!

I would tackle the venue first. This nails down date, location and guest list size (minimum and maximum). That's where I started with our planning. Plus, the venue sets the tone for the day, including everythign from what style of dress you might want to wear to centerpieces.Good luck!

I would tackle the hall before anything. Then you have a date to give all of your vendors like DJ, photographer, etc. Plus it will give you an idea on how you want to set it up/decorate/etc.

Awesome, thanks for the replies!! That makes total sense, my fiancée seems more concerned with the guest list than venue but I'm sure we'll get on the same page.So my cousin got married at Floral Terrace (315 guests), it was nice but it seemed a bit stuffy so I def ruled that out.

Having your families make a rough guest list is a good thing also, especially if you have big families. Not every venue you visit will accommodate 300 people. We were also able to get our $$ per person down by guaranteeing more people (some venues will let you do this), so it's good to have some sort of idea of how many people you will have prior to visiting venues.

I did first list first. just a fish draft didn't formally sit with parents and get list. I did this do I want liking at half that only holds 100 when my guest list is ay 200!! I've see brides on here get a venue that only holds 200 then do thier list and end up having to cut people out bc they already booked too. small of a venue!

I would come up with a rough guest list and book your hall first. Dates book fast!

Draft a guest list.. a lot of venues will have a minimum person requirement (usually anywhere from 100-150 people). Normally the first question the hall will ask is how many people are you having. This also helps in them giving you a quote. I would draft the list, then go to the venue with your number in hand!Welcome New Vendors
