Help, I don't want to be....

Help, I don't want to be....

Bridezilla, but my MOHs just send out the invitations for my bachorette party which is in another state and only gave people 2 weeks notice. I know for sure that 3/4 of the guest list will not be able to attend because of their families and jobs. (Just got a phone call telling me they can't come because of short notice.) They need more time to plan. I am a little upset about this and I feel bad that I am upset.

The other thing is that they plan it without asking me for available dates and I have friends from North Carolina coming in that weekend. We have reservations and play tickets.

What should I do? I don't want to seem like bridezilla but 2 weeks is not enough time for people to rearrange their schedules and I have friends coming in that weekend.

Also, people would have to pay to get to the other state and pay for their activities.

What should I do??????? Am I being unreasonable?

Did your MOH discuss this with you at all? Have you told her you're not available that weekend?

your not being a bridezilla. I would be mad. I told my moh let me know about my shower what day etc, and to give people at least 2 months notice. I don't have out of town guests coming for it but my aunt constantly travels. I'm lucky I sent my save the dates out 12 months in advance! everyone was already planning their April vacations.

I would maybe ask her to send out another invite with a date change or call everyone with a date change. 2 weeks is really short notice. I feel bad doing almost 2 weeks notice just for my bday party the 22nd.

RSVP to your own bachelorette with a 'no'. She'll get the idea.

No, you're definitely not unreasonable. It makes sense to check with the guest of honor for which date works and to allow people enough time to respond.

This is fun to joke about, but I think directly yet gently approaching the MOH would work best here. The 'no' RSVP response may only escalate things.

You are definitely NOT being unreasonable - your MOH has to talk to you about YOUR availability...
Tell her that she HAS to re-schedule the whole thing... it's not your fault...
