Re: HELP!!! I HAVE NO IDEAS FOR FAVORS
i wanted to do mini-fondue sets but i waited and couldnt get them in time. Ive seen it done one time but definitely not something you see often.
Theres a place in the city that had these real pretty sake bottles with glasses. They also had these cool box sets with asian style plates, mini sake cup with chop sticks.
or maybe you would prefer edible?

Re: HELP!!! I HAVE NO IDEAS FOR FAVORS
I've found that if you don't want to do a particular 'thing', it's best to do a donation to an organization that means something to you or FH and your families. That way, at least your money is going towards good, instead of a favor that half of your guests probably won't even take home.

I like edible favors, maybe something that represents your locale, or donations.

Someone had posted cupcake mix in a jar.
Someone else was going to do bagels, cream cheese, and a newspaper in a bag for each guest to enjoy the next morning.

What are you/FH's interests? Do you have a theme for your wedding? I would get something that shows off you/FH's personality.
For example, FH and I love wine. We had our first date at the vineyards. FH's parents make their own wine, so we are having a vineyard theme and we will be giving wine as favors.
We are doing cookbooks with recipes we collected from our friends and family.

One of the best favors I got was a small package of ground Kona coffee with a silver coffee scoop. The bride and groom were honeymooning in Hawaii.
Useful, edible, but not perishable.

anything edible and drinkable is best...in my opinion. People tend to throw away the candles and stuff when they do their spring cleaning.
You may want to think of something that goes with your time or year or theme if you have one. A friend of mine did little zen garden type things for her eparty. Sort of summery with the sand and stuff.

edible favors seem to be a big hit. for my e party we are doing individually boxed pastries (pics in my album) and the pastry plus the boxing/wrapping (the bakery is doing it) wasn't too bad per pastry. There are also lots of other cute options like a cookie or cupcakes or truffle favors. good luck!

We are getting our wine from where we had our first date at the vineyards out east. How much do you want to spend? On their website, the cheapest one was 12 dollars, but buying it in bulk, I am assuming they'll throw in a 20% discount. So 10 dollars per couple isnt soooo bad. I'm sure you can get it for a lot cheaper somewhere else, though. I think I remember seeing a bride pay 6 dollars per bottle from somewhere at a bulk/group rate.

YOu just go to a local liquor store. I did wine for e-party and went to local liquor stores. Dont go by price on the bottle at the store but tell them if i buy x amount of bottles whats the best price you can give me. I went with the one that gave me the best price. They had to order it and about 3 days later they had it for me.
I went to a few liquor stores and found one that was willing to give me the best deal. I bought a type of pinot grigio for $4.50 each
