I have some time so I can go to the north or south shore. The wedding is in Holbrook and the reception is in Port Jefferson. I want pictures with a nice green background but I also want pictures with water in the background. So far the only place I have heard of is the Oak Dale Arborium.
Any other suggestions?
Is the Oak Dale Arbarium a good spot?

The Arberetium is beautiful! Only downside is the goose poop. It's not a problem - just have to be careful where you walk.
The duck pond in East Setauket. The steel bridge in East Setauket - right on 25A. The park (forget the name of it) right by the duck pond. Also try by the Three village in. They have an open area there that is very green - you also have the harbor in the background.
ETA: Dowling College - They have a beautiful area to take pictures. You have to book it early so call now! You can see the glass building on the website.

I vote for this park also..the small Mill Pond by the East Setauket Post Office....also down the block from the Emma S Clark Library....
it has a stone bridge, an old barn, beautiful scenery. It was one of my fave places to go when I lived up there!
Also, there is a duck pond in Old Historic Stony Brook where the old Grist Mill is which is just down the road from Three Village Inn....

East setuket is where i took my engagement pics- very pretty

I opened this thread with intentions of mentioning the Arboritum. It's gorgeous. Yes, there is a lot of goose poo, but the gorgeous scenary makes it worth it

Northport Harbor is beautiful and so is Vanderbilt Mansion in Centerport. They both have water views.

We took pics down in Stony Brook Village by the Three Village in for my sisters wedding and it was really nice...There is a big green area right across the street from Three Village and it is near the water.

It's beautiful--we had our pics there and they came out beautiful. There was goose poo. It actually turned my heels a weird shade of green/brown before the ceremony, but I don't think anyone noticed. Come to think of it, I hope I didn't smell...
Anyway, what about the area by the water in Stony Brook? Across from the post office?

the arboretum is beautiful! my girlfriend was proposed to there. i also live over there. i'm getting my pics taken at the vanderbilt museum in centerport

I was going to say the ponds in setauket. I have been going on picnics there since I was little. IT is really pretty & not a lot of people around.

What about the Horticulture Gardens of Suny Farmingdale College there really beautiful I am looking into that now I am trying to book it waiting to hear back from them now
