So my e-party is coming up and the next steps is figuring out the seating chart. My FMIL thinks that FH and I should be sitting with her and FFIL, my mom and sister etc. when I planned to be sitting with our bridal party. My mom didn't say anything about my plan but FMIL is adament that the immediate family sit together. I don't know what to do.

You should sit with whoever you want! Let your FMIL know you plan on moving around a lot and you will definitely spend time with them, but its your party.
I don't understand why she would be so difficult about something so unimportant. If you want to sit with the bridal party, you should be able to. However, if she is footing the entire bill, I'd probably give her a bit more leeway even though she is definitely being unreasonable.

I would say sit with whomever you like, BUT if they are paying, then I would yield to their preference. You really won't be sitting at your table for very long anyway!!

we sat w/ our parents, too, just sort of symbolic LOL showing the 2 fams coming together. IMO it totally doesnt matter, though, so if you really dont want to, dont! i agree, though, that if they are paying and insisting then i would yield to their wishes have fun and dont worry - honestly you will only be sitting when you eat so it really wont matter!!
