Help! I would love a band but it's so expensive

Hi there,

I'm not sure what to do.

The only thing I've said all along that I really wanted was a band. The average cost seems to be $6,000. Is this what everyone else has come across? Or does anyone have a less expensive band that they loved?

I thought I couldn't afford a band... BUT i found the best band ever!! for $2300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! check them out... i love them...

Unfortunately that is the going rate. I have to agree with everyone though, it is worth the splurge! We used The Projekt & I could not be happier! Our guests were so impressed & were dancing the entire night through!

Hi ...I picked a DJ with a singer (Party Harty) but I looked at Energy Express and they were only $2800. They are a great band and worth looking into. The owner was very nice and they sent me a demo DVD to watch. They do have a website..so Google them...Good Luck!!!

we're paying about 6K for Skyline (same company as Code Bleu) Like some of the other girls mentioned, we cut back on other things-we didn't have an e-party, just went out to dinner with the two families, cut corners on things like invites, std's, etc. because we didn't want to skimp on the music

wow, the way you guys are talking about bands makes me want one really bad!!
I never considered one but now i am curious.

I just think i rather splurge on the honeymoon but i am going to look into bands.

Does anyone know of a band/ dj option?

As a former bride...DON'T skimp on the HM!! The reception is great...but it's only for a few hours. The HM could last a week or more!! Yes, splurge there!!

The one thing my DH wanted was a band and I have to say that we loved every second of it. We still have people talking about them 6 months later. We used renegade and they were $6200. They are part of liparamount but dave the band leader is also the 1/2 owner of the company. We know 3 different people that booked our band after our wedding. If it is something that you want get it...and cut back on other things.

I'm a musician myself and the only thing i can tell you is to find a band that doesn't work for a company. The reason is that most of the money you pay for a band doesn't go to the musicians playing for you, they get very little of it, most of it goes to the company. That's why it's so expensive.

I'm booking that 70's band, they as of right now, are charging me 5000 but they are going to be opening for james brown next year so that price is gonna jump up soon. Plus you have to love 70's music lol. The thing is the guy told me that he can't gaurentee every single person to be at the wedding so there might be subs. It's a risk I'm willing to take. I also know a few people who play in the band so I dont' think it's gonna be a huge problem. The subs I have seen are pretty awesome too.

Start going to bars and check out the local bands, they will charge you much less.
