OK so here is the deal I got engaged in July of 2008. He asked me to marry him on his birthday, sooo cute anyway, We first were planning a May 2010 Wedding so I had all the time in the world BUT..... I got into Nursing school YAY and we had to push the wedding up, HOLY STRESSED . I am Getting married SEPT 6,2009 or OCT 11,2009 and have absolutely nothing done. WHere should I start what should I have done first..... We will know the exact date in a week but where do I go from there? I have 10 months!!!!

Hi and welcome. Don't stress it seems quick but you have alot of time. Get the place picked first. The next important things i would worry about is photographer, dj and limo because these book up fast. I haven't even searched for a florist yet. I'm waiting till way after the holidays. As far as favors and all that other little stuff i'm holding off for a while.

I have Sept 6 2009 at Larkfied Manor and The Inn at East Winds on Oct 11 2009 saved pending food tastings. I originally had CLM and Westbury Manor for May but when I moved the date they were no longer a option and I was not crazy about the food at CLM anyway.

I have never been to the Inn at East Winds but I can tell you the food at Larkfield is amazing! That is where I am having my reception and I absolutely love that place!!!

start with the hall, get the food tasting's in and then go from there. im getting married in july and i have a lot to do myself...dont stress
. People plan weddings in 3 months, dont let this site overwhelme you...
start looking into what kind of photo's you want to help you narrow your choice of photo,
decide if you want DJ/Band and start attending showcases or looking into prices and go from there

Congrats to you! I would start with the church and the RH right away. Then DJ and photography. Everything after that you should have more than enough time to look around.

The first thing is to take a deep breath and not stress or panick. You have all of the time in the world to plan your perfect wedding.
Second, do you have a RH yet? If not, do not set your heart on either of those dates (Septembet or October) and instead make a list of RH that you want to visit and then find the one(s) you like and see what dates in late summer or early fall are available.
After that, it is on to your other vendors. You can always start by talking to the vendors that your RH recommends but also LIW is an invaluable resource. Ask the girls on here and do some research and you'll find the best vendors. I'd say start with photo/video after you book your RH because great photogs get booked quickly and have limited availability. After that, I'd look at flowers and your dress because that could be time consuming. There are a lot of djs out there, and some great ones on LIW, so booking one will be easier and the same goes for limos.
Also, congrats on getting into nursing school!

Don't panic - you have plenty of time. The other girls are 100% correct -get your RH and/or ceremony place first - the other vendors will fall into place after that.
LIW is an invaluable source of information so feel free to ask questions.
Don't let anyone stress you out or make you feel bad because you're not as far ahead in your planning. We all have our own reasons for planning either far in advance or in a short period of time.

Welcome and congrats!!!! Once you get the hall from there look into photographers, DJs and florist. Oh and look for your dress as well as the girls.

Congrats!!!!! my sister just had her wedding at the inn at east wind.. OMG it was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i would get the hall taken care of, then your church if you are doing that. you don't have to rush... you have some time. just take each task one day at a time! don't stress and enjoy the process!!!

I'm getting married the day after you...Sept. 7, 2009...and can tell you that you still have plenty of time. I'm signing the contract on the venue today (leaving in 15 mins!!!) and have 1 appt with a band and a list of photogs/videogs to call, but nothing else reserved. You're definitely fine as long as you don't have your heart set on any particular vendors. I wouldn't worry. I'm going to start dress shopping around mid-December when I get back from a vacation. As long as you order your dress by the end of Feb you will be fine.
Everything starts to fall into place after you get your venue, I promise. The halls recommend vendors as well, which helps a lot!

Congrats and welcome! Definitely don't stress, you need to enjoy this as much as possible!!!
Just as everyone else said, Hall first - then everything pretty much comes into play. You will be surprised how many people come out of the woodwork to help also. Bridal showcases are definitely a plus - if you have the time to attend one. Ask your hall (when you choose one) the vendors that they recommend and start making appts.
In the end, it will all work out and come together (it always does). Good Luck

First of all welcome! Second of all, take a deep breath! You will be fine. Everyone on LIW is so helpful, and you will soon be addicted to this website! First you should find a reception hall, and a church if you are getting married in one. Than move on to a photographer/videographer, and DJ. Also don't forget to start looking for a dress! I believe they say to try to find one 9 months before your wedding, but I know most places will help work with your time frames so don't let that stress you out! Most importantly keep in mind that through all of the craziness, this is all about marrying you true love, so when ever you feel crazy and overwhelemd think about that! Also congrats on nusing school! Welcome!

Like it has been said before don't stress...hall first and everything will fall into place.....FYI I know that Crst Hollow Country club has 9/6/09 open since my friend cancel her wedding..if you want to give them a shot. I def recommend attending as many bridal showcase as you can and FM with any questions you may have or about my vendors.
