I was let go from my Real Estate job at the end of September. I am collecting unemployment as I search and search or jobs! Nothing has pulled in yet! I am getting so frustrating. I am starting to think that there is something wrong with me!

Oh God DO NOT think that!!! I went through that myself this summer... I mean here i was with 14 yrs experience and couldn't find work... Seriously it is the economy NOT YOU!!!!

hi! Yes I have tried there too. Allot bounce back and want me to fill out an online application before anything. I think it's a bogus cause it asks questions like how is my credit score? And what it the family income!! I still try cause some have not been getting bounced back!
I just want some nice office job!!

It's not you, it's the economy. I'm technically unemployed too. I have a job but it's not in my field, not even close to it. Just keep applying and keep following up. Something will come eventually

I hope so!!! This really ***** I hate collecting unemployment..I feel like I have lost my security. I know DH is there for me but it still gets me down.Been waiting on getting a house and I feel like I am holding him back! I know I shouldn't feel like this but it's hard. Thankfully I have a loving husband who is my corner for me!

do you have any admin experience? maybe you can temp while you look for work. I have done this and it is super easy and pays very well. FM me if you want info.

there is a hiring freeze and alot of companies aren't even hiring now.
I also was having trouble too. I had went from one recruiter to another about 4 altogether and let me say each one changed up my resume to what they thought would be better. So one changed something and added other things, then another one would make their changes and this kept happening. I have to say that i wasn't happy with how it was but listened to their advice since I thought they were the experts. One person gave me good advice and decided to go back to how my resume originally was which was alot more detailed and explained things alot more rather than listing duties i had at jobs, companies actually want to hear it explained. Also changed the order of things and took out that stupid objective which even alot of advice columns on resumes tell you to do. So I started from scratch and ever since I did this, I have been getting call backs and emails. I had 2 interviews just yesterday, and the place I really want called me today for an interview next week. So since the changes I made, it has been going well.
And yes ignore any emails you get to fill out these questionairres that have nothing to do with the job, they are scams. I did it too and then i started getting all these calls from things bc of it.

Don't worry you'll find something soon! Just constantly scour the job sites and even check out career fairs. I went to one at my college and that's how I got my job but I know a lot of community colleges and sometimes Nassau Colisseum have job fairs. If you have any college you can check out their recruitment/career offices. Good luck!

My friends hubby is jobless to & can't find anything...He is educated & just stuck. He is starting to look in atlanta. They don't want to go but not having much of a choice.
I work with someone else at USPS who graduated from college also....can't find a job & has been a mailman since April. It's a job!! They are hard to come by.
It's not you......I hear unemployment is up 13% from last year.

to the OP: i know theres a couple of job fairs coming up. I know there is one november 8th. If you go on careerbuilder.com and look up job fairs you will see theres a few coming up, also i think on November 12th.

Thanks for the info. I have been faxing and e-mailing and I have not been getting call backs on anything so It has me down a little bit. I think if I change my resume maybe that will do the trick. Where have you been looking? Can you give me any sites? Yes some things on Craigslist is a scam..anybody asking you to fill out those surveys is a scam most job seekers provide a real e-mail!!
