Help in Suffolk County-fire house, VFW ect..rental??

Hi all,

I'm trying to help my cousin plan an engagement party on a shoe string budget for about 50 people. I have heard that fire houses will rent out the place for reasonable price or like a VFW, Knights of Columbus, Elks Club ect and you can bring in your own food?? Not looking to spend more than 800-1000.

We are in the Miller Place area.

Does any one have any idea of places we can go and prices or other details?

If you're willing to go to Nassau... the Knights of Columbus in Oceanside is suppossed to be especially nice (some people it's nicer than some catering halls).

There are several firehouses that will rent out their hall. Usually you would have to know someone for most. I belong to a fire department that does rent it out to the public for a fee.

there is a VFW on Lakelane Avenue jsut south of sunrise that is pretty cheap. I am calling there soon to get prices. if you want, FM me and I will FM you the price when I get it!
