Help! Is it my place to say something...

Help! Is it my place to say something...

Sorry so LONG!

To make a long story as short as possible, I promise it could be longer :), my sister has been having issues with her FH's sister for quite awhile. Never did they seem to get along but things got worse when they got engaged b/c she's been waiting for her bf of several years to propose. So the green eyed monster reared its ugly head.

Anyway, this girl has done nothing but give my sister grief. She is VERY competitive which my sister is not. Even her parents feed into it. With everything my sister plans for the wedding, her parents go on about when SHE gets married what they will do. Again, SHE's not even engaged. We are talking down to the cermony music. They stopped during a joint family Christmas dinner to announce that the song being played at that moment is what SHEl will have played at her ceremony. Anyway, that's the background. Now comes the shower time...

My mom and I asked my sister's friend to help get her out of the house. We have not heard back from her yet. My mother mentions it to HER mom, (my sisters FMIL) and she suggested that her son and my sister go over her daughters house to help her move in! Like that's exactly what my sister wants to do. That will really put her in a mood to start her shower. So with that, obviously SHE, a BM by the way, no longer plans on coming early with the rest of us to help. When SHE herself, tells me, is it my place to say something about how disappointed I am that she has had so little to do with planning the shower and now no help the day of. Afterall, she is going to my sisters SIL. I really thought she would put aside her pettiness and jelousy and take the high road. So, is it my place to say something or should I bite my tongue yet again? It's just my sister is so sweet and so innocent and to be treated by this girl and her FIL's makes me ill. She would never say anything, should I plant a seed with the shower issue to maybe open her eyes?

IMO- leave it alone.

The last thing your sister needs is more problems with this girl- if she doesn't see what 's going on- ignorance is bliss!!

good luck

I would just leave it alone. You don't want to cause more trouble between them then there already is. It is a sucky situation but I wouldn't say anything. JMO

See maybe I'm evil, but I'd rip into her - just a little. Mind you, I would completely make it known that I'm am speaking for myself, but I would have no problem being Captain Obvious and stating what is common knowledge. Maybe her problem is that even she doesn't see how selfish she's acting...

But this is JMO. Obviously not the popular sentiment, but if it were my sister - I might be tempted to say something about the situation, as appropriate (of course)

errrrrrrrrrrr! What is it about IL's? I have issues with mine and I know my sister doesnt completely get along with her FSIL. I think I would say a little something. But if you can't which I'm not sure I would be able to hold back, then it may be best to say nothing at all. You don't want to make it worse.

maybe i'd say... 'oh, we have another plan for her to get there...' and then that way she'd HAVE to come early.
