HELP! Looking for place to take pictures near Oakdale

Hey ladies! So I had my heart set on taking pictures with the bridal party at old Vanderbilt Mansion at Dowling College. We followed instructions on their website but got a call yesterday that they no longer do it and now we have to find a place. I am hoping to find something that has both indoor and outdoor opportunities to take pictures. We were hoping to be taking pictures from approx 3:15-4:45ish based on our timeline. The Arboretum is out as they are only open until 3:45 in winter and do not let you take pictures inside the building (or so they say). There's a bunch of parks I am considering but does anyone know of anything near the Oakdale area that might have some good opportunities for indoor pics? TIA

HELP! Looking for place to take pictures near Oakdale

There may be a few opportunities on Dowling Campus or maybe the St. John's campus in Oakdale. Indoor opportunities are so hard to find.

HELP! Looking for place to take pictures near Oakdale

I really don't know how possible this would be but Bourne Mansion is in Oakdale, maybe try there? I know the manager is the same guy that runs my venue and he is super nice.

HELP! Looking for place to take pictures near Oakdale

My MOH called Bourne and they said no because we were not having our wedding there. We loved Dowling, but we were told they no longer allow pictures. We might just go and try not to get thrown out :( I am going to look into the St John's campus though! Thank you! Anyone else have ideas?! I'm open to a 5-10 min radius of that area

You can try connectquot state park they have some mansion converted over to gift shops, museum, ect for indoor pictures. Have you considered trying some of the restaurants in Oakdale like the view or even the Warf.

If Sayville isn't out of the question I know it's not completely indoor but the Granges on Broadway have some old historic barns, and a church i have seen wedding pictures done there.

How about the LI maritime museum? They have a really pretty dock where the sun sets beautifully and some cool old boat buildings

Re: HELP! Looking for place to take pictures near Oakdale

I think we are going to be taking our pictures here! I contacted them and they said it wasn't a problem. In case it rains, I believe they have an indoor boat yard which is perfect for our nautical theme. I was thinking about Dowling too- that really stinks!
