HELP ME!!! Can you do the math? AND I can't remember what % say no.

My guest list has reached a whopping 177. (This is my intimate destination wedding we are talking about here - I feel ready to cry.)

I'm hoping someone can tell me what % declines, typically, then tack on another 5% to that, given the fact that 100% of the people coming have to travel at least 2 hours.

How many does that leave me??

Thanks ladies!

Well, the percent, I believe is generally around 25%. Tack on another 5%, possibly anywhere between 100-120.

In Modern Bride they say 20%

is this what you are looking for?

177 invites * 20% = 35 estimated no shows
177 invites * 25% = 44 estimated no shows
177 invites * 30% = 53 estimated no shows

so
177 - 35 = 142 guests
177 - 44 = 133 guests
177 - 53 = 124 guests

Unfortunately, no matter what the magazines say, you can't really predict how many people will come with any accuracy. I hope it works out for you!

Hang in there, Ryanna! Did you send out STD's? Maybe that will cut down on the number! Don't send!

Christine! Oh God, I sent the STD's and everyone LOVED them - it may be a case of 'Oh Honey! Let's go to New York and make a whole vacation of it!'

I know I can't predict at this point - I'm just grasping at numbers and hoping people will go '200 dollars for a Bed and Breakfast! No way!'

Thanks for the feedback ladies!

Did you send out the invitations yet? Maybe you can cut back on your list?

I have been wondering this too as my guest list is very high for the amount of people we wanted..

We are good to go if 22% decline- but, from asking around- that seems to be a high decline rate- no matter what the magazines say..

We have 2 and a half weeks left til the RSVP due date and we only have 13 no's out of 274 people- and like 144 yes's.

So, plan on 15% not coming- then plan to be pleasantly surprised when you have your intimate #.
