Ok there are many places I can donate to, they are going to be our favors. I dont want anyone to feel, I dont know if offended is the word...
1. AIDS/HIV - FH's 2 uncles have it from blood transfusions in the early 80's
2. Hemophelia - FH's uncles and grandmother have this
3. Fibromylasia - Very close friend has this
4. Heart Disease - my grandpa died of a heart attack
5. Alzhimers (sp?) - my grandpa has this
6. March of Dimes - my baby... I love babies
Any ideas on how to choose just one?

Re: Help me choose a donation
Go with whichever moves you both more. You can't worry about who you're offending - there will ALWAYS be 'one' who has something to say, no matter how 'perfect' you try to make it.
Personally, I would go with an AIDS donation. Maybe b/c that's one of the ones we're considering...

Re: Help me choose a donation
THey are all great causes. Why limit your self? Decide how much you want to donate and split it up among a few. In your donation scroll to the guests, explain why each of these causes touch you. People will be very happy. I'm sure that everyone can relate to at least one of these terrible diseases and take comfort in your donation.

I agree with mlp...on your donation announcement list the different orgs and why you're donating to them...people will be touched and you'll feel great about donating to several different orgs.

Re: Help me choose a donation
Find the one that means the most to you, then donate. We donated to CARE International and the Sierra Club, because international poverty and the environment are our things.
Also, if you are into animal rights at all, check into which organizations use a great deal of unnecessary animals in their research. I know some of the medical organizations do this, but if that's not important to you just pick the cause that makes you feel best donating to it.

Re: Help me choose a donation
I second (third, fourth?) the splitting donation idea. If anyone is 'offended' they aren't thinking straight. I understand your desire to limit the number of organizations, just go with your heart. I think if you pick a couple, or even 3, you would still be making a nice donation to many worthy causes.
