Help ME Choose A Hall!!!!

Original post by GsCM4EVA

Hello Ladies..I am new to this chat, just got engaged 2 weeks ago...Me and my fiancee have started to look at wedding halls of course, and I need some opinions..This is where I have went so far/opinions:

Leonards: First place we went to..I liked it a lot, price wasnt bad.

Jerich Terrace:Was there for a wedding b4, didn't really like the inside of the hall, plus my prom was there...

Floral Terrace: Was tehre for a wedding b4, price was too expens!! Plus my fiance's sister got married there..

Westbury Manor: Felt too old for us, but liked the live birds!

Chateau La Mer: Very nice, but dance floor too small!! Will go there for food tasting..

Verdis: Place itself was OK, sort of felt it was too dark...Cheapest so far 70/pp..

Russos: Very Close to home (Live in Ozone Park, Queens). Also very exps, but can a possible price break...

I'm not sure where to go to next...Can someone help me out or offer some insight on LEONARDS???

Thanks!!

I agree that the dance floor at Chateau La Mer is small and it was a concern for us but in the end the food and the price were too good to pass up. You should definitely go to the food tasting. Everything was really good.

you're already going to try crest hollow, but i think you'll like it. reasonable prices, the grounds are pretty and nothing is too over the top. if you don't mind other events going on at the same time, which i don't (i have a really laid back attitude with regards to this)
then it might be the place for you and yours!

good luck!

I second Crest Hollow! I knew it was the place for me immediately. I just had that feeling.

Try the Woodbury Country Club. I must haved looked at 50 halls and the WCC was the last one I looked at. They gave us the most for our money and the price was excellent for a Saturday night granted I am getting married in December. Dominick is amazing to work with and he works on the price and the menu to customize your needs.

Good Luck planning....and just remember while doing all this planning take a weekend here and there to remember why you are doing all of this in the first place. It can consume your life rather quickly.

I think if you can't see yourself at those placese when maybe still look for one. You didn't have Woodbury C C that place is very nice. I hoped I helped. Good Luck!!

Personally I like the outside of Leonards better than the Inside..Russo's is very nice and the food is great..
You have to pick a hall that you LOVE.
Everyone has different taste.

I would pick Leonards, the only reason I didn't was because I didn't like the idea that there can be more than one wedding there at a time
But it's beautiful!!!

I have to agree I have been to weddings at a couple of places you listed.

Leonards, not my kind of place, the food was good but the service was just ok

Westbury Manor, the bride had to many people and we stood on line in the cocktail hour for almost a half an hour and then there was no were to sit and people were packed in like sardines. So I have to say it was not one of the best weddings I have been to.

Chateau La Mer the food and service were excellent. My friend had I think 180 people and the dance floor was not to small at all. Remember not everyone dances at the same time a lot of people mingle.

I would also encourage you to look at Woodbury CC as well as North Ritz Club. They were both lovely venues and since you are already checking out Crest Hollow and Fox Hollow both of the other places are in the area.

I am going to Chateau La Mer tonight for the food tasting, if I like it I am booking it, I didnt notice if the dance floor was too small but the reception area downstairs is soo beautiful and spactious it doesnt matter. My family can dance everywhere!

Re: Help ME Choose A Hall!!!!

I 've been to weddings at a few of the places mentioned...mine is at East wind, probably too far away for you...but it is gorgeous!

However, while I was in HS and college I worked at Watermill and it really is fabulous!

the food is terrific, the service is great, it is so clean...in the kitchen...
it is remodeled...

If thats too far...Russo;s is great too

My vote is for Russo's...but then again I am being 136% biased.

Re: Help ME Choose A Hall!!!!

all the places that you listed all are beautiful and dont want to confuse you more by throwing something else into the mix - but how bout somewhere that is not in the normal mix of names that you see on here all the time

i am getting married at the harbor club in huntington - one wedding at a time -on the water - and it is absolutely beatiful there

it is worth taking a look at - and i love mentioning it on here because i feel like it is always the same names being said over and over and some diff places never get the same attention even though they are just as nice

here are some pics in case you havent heard/seen it
