Okay. So FH doesn't fly so our honeymoon options are limited. We're looking to cruise from NY but there are only 3 cruise options for that time of year.
The three cruises are a Norwegian cruise for 7 days to Florida and the Bahamas, Royal Caribbean cruise for 5 days to Bermuda, Royal Caribbean cruise for 10 days to the southern Caribbean.
Please vote on what you think I should do and tell me why! TIA!
Option 1: 5 day cruise to Bermuda, then stay on the same ship and do a 10 day cruise to the southern Caribbean.
Option 2: 7 day cruise to Florida and Bahamas.
Option 3: 7 day cruise to Florida and Bahamas (stay on the ship for 2 weeks).
Option 4: 5 day cruise to Bermuda, two days home, then a 7 day cruise to Florida and Bahamas.
Option 5: Something different - please specify.

Re: Help me choose my honeymoon
Bermuda is supposed to be absolutely gorgeous! it's def on my list of places to go!
With option 1, not only do you see bermuda, you also get S. Carribean ... more places = more fun

Re: Help me choose my honeymoon
Hey. what time of the year are you going? Zach and I just did the ncl one 2 weeks ago. It was good but cold. If you want warm weather DEFINETLY do the 10 day southern. You need to go farther south then the bahamas in the winter months to get warm weather. Bermuda will have north carolina weather. Bermuda is our favorite island though. we love love love it.
You could always take the train to florida and then take a cruise from florida.

Re: Help me choose my honeymoon
i think they are all great options... but just remember, when you leave from NY, you spend the first 3 days or so at sea.... so it takes away from the fun a little bit (at least it did for me)...
if your FH doesn't fly, why not do a cross country road trip?

Re: Help me choose my honeymoon
I would do Option 1 since you get to see more....FL & the Bahamas are nice but the Caribbean is even better!...just check the weather in Bermuda b/c it gets chilly in the winter there too. Also, have you guys ever done a cruise before? If not, I'd be wary of being on a ship for that long on your first time cruising.

Re: Help me choose my honeymoon
option 1 sounds good to me! but, if you're going in Nov, its gonna be chilly for most of ur HM..don't know if that matters to you...
I also like the idea of the cross country trip - that's something FH & I always wanted to do! I think it would be sooo fun - there's so much to see!

Re: Help me choose my honeymoon
FH and I have been on 4 cruises together. We absolutely love them! I know families that sometimes do back to back cruises and stay in the same room on the ship but they get to see a bunch of different ports as long as the itinerary changes. I would definitely go for option number 1!

I chose option 1 because it includes the Caribbean, and it is so beautiful there, you cannot miss it. It is a perfect honeymoon spot!

Re: Help me choose my honeymoon
i chose option 2 because any longer than a week on a ship and i would go nuts! haha!
FH and i went on our first cruise in January, and while it was fun, i was ready to leave by the end. granted, we had really crappy weather for our cruise almost the whole time. that really took away from a lot of the things we wanted to do.
have you cruised before?

Re: Help me choose my honeymoon
I've cruised many times before and so has FH so I don't think it will be a problem. I agree with most of you that it will be cold, but unfortunately I don't really have many other options. And plus, it might be nice to 'stay in' on the day we're in NY.
I do like the idea of a cross-country trip, but I'm not sure I could stomach that!
I think we'll probably do Option 1, but I wanted to get all of your input!

Re: Help me choose my honeymoon
option one is nice, do a Princess Cruise!!!!! Bermuda is beautiful!!! I went on a Princess cruise last year for 9 days and it was amazing!!!! we went to Bermuda, St. Thomas, Grand Turk, and PR. Oh, if you want to get a deal you can book with Costco if you have a membership FH got a a credit when he booked a cruise for my bday with them.

Re: Help me choose my honeymoon
def option 1...esp if its royal caribbean!
i dont mind the first 2 days at sea...gives you time to relax and get comfy and explore the ship!
Bermuda is gorgeous...One of FH & I's favorite islands! it's very expensive there tho...small island, you can rent a scooter and explore the island on your own...that's what we did, it was great and got to see lots of beautiful sites!

Re: Help me choose my honeymoon
I would suggestion Option 5- I would recommend an all inclusive resort somewhere..Maybe Aruba, St. Thomas, St. Marteen, Mexico or another island somewhere. Reason being that alcohol is not included on a cruise and it can get quite pricy, if money isn't a problem then its not biggie. But those fancy drinks we all want to drink when hanging by the pool get expensive. I have been to Riu Palace in Cancun mexico which we lovedddd. Also I enjoyed the all inclusive resorts much better because when you are on a cruise you have a time schedule that you need to be back or you'll miss the ship, you don't get to really appreciate the islands. When im on vacation i dont want to be rushing around. But cruise are def. something to experience if you haven't been on one. I just prefer resorts.
