Help me decide on China please

Here are the 2 I like. I am really not a formal china kinda person. But will I get bored on the square one?

i love the square one..you don't use china that often so can you really get bored of it?

I am not getting china b/c i already have had it passed down to me but I like the square one. Mondern yet classic.

I think you need a closeup of the second one - If it's Mikasa parchment, there's a design in the pattern that you can't see in this pic.

I got square everyday china and the Mikasa pattern for formal. I like them both.

I have mixed feelings. I really like the square shape of #1, but #2 is just more classical, and more formal, in my opinion.

I liked the square one when I went to register, but decided not to go with it b/c it came with a mug instead of a cup and saucer, and figured that if the meal was formal enough for fine china, I should have a cup and saucer. For that reason, I vote for #2, although I love the style of #1.

I like # 1..Im not a formal kind of china person either and I might consider it...I cant think though of when I would use it, what is really formal theses days? We use plastic cups at Christmas!

They're both beautiful patterns. IMO, #1 is more modern & maybe a little trendy. Will it look dated in 10 or 15 years? #2 is more traditional & classic & will neveer be out of style. But then, I'm an old fashioned kind of girl.
