I would love to get married in a big loft in the city, but of course that is way out of our budget.
does anyone know of any modern looking facilities on Long Island?? My favorite is the Hyatt hotel but the FH doesn't love the typical looking ballroom with no windows.
any ideas????
i'm getting nervous that we are going to book some place we don't love because we just didn't know where to look...

Re: Help me find a MODERN space!!!
Maybe a vineyard out east?
I'm sure there's lots of modern (non-vineyard) places in the Hamptons, but that probably runs you into the same $$ problem as NYC...
Or what about the Crescent Beach Club?

Re: Help me find a MODERN space!!!
Check out the North Ritz Club (i have pics in my album) Try The Metropolitan, they have a more contemporary look. Try Venetian Yacht Club, its on the water with pretty views
Just make lists of all different places and go see them all! You never know which ones you're going to fall in love with

Try North Ritz Club in Syosset. FH wanted a modern looking space too and we ended up picking this place as our RH.

by modern do you mean contemporary bc i see RH's being mentioned but to me they are more traditional
Try the metropolitan in long island.
I know some in long island city but not sure if that will be too far for you.

Theres a place in Astoria Queens called 'Central' is has a loft feel it does mention that they do weddings. Good Luck!
I LOOKED there for my e-party. The only problem is the table set up. For 150 guests at my eparty it wouldve been hard

foundry is amazing, if you dont have a big wedding, you can really do alot with the space. Also i know i mentioned the metropolitan in long island but there is another place in lic called the metropolitan building, again great space to do alot with.

Thats true, I haven't seen it yet with the new renovations I thought they made is more spacious, but yea seating 150 + ppl would be too cramped
oH DID THEY renovate it? fh lives right by central and ive seen that the outside looks a bit different so didn't know. I havent been there in a while. Maybe it is spacious enough now

Have you looked into art museums or botanical gardens? They tend to be more modern-looking.

i think our budget is a little below average... 25K-30K. the foundry is my DREAM venue, but out of my price range :(
The Chateau Briand has a very modern look to it. And the prices arent too bad either.

Re: Help me find a MODERN space!!!
ok i dont know if youre willing to do this but you can call places just to try. If you book a wedding with 6 months or less before the date, you get a big discount on the price. I know somebody who got married at penthouse on 5th ave, thats the name of it. Its a loft like you are looking for with amazing view of the city. They moved up their wedding date, and they gave them an amazing price. You can call places to see what dates they have available and if its a few months away, if they would give you a great price. This all depends on whether you are willing to do this though, i know it can be hard.
