I would love to get married in a big loft in the city, but of course that is way out of our budget.
does anyone know of any modern looking facilities on Long Island?? My favorite is the Hyatt hotel but the FH doesn't love the typical looking ballroom with no windows.
any ideas????
i'm getting nervous that we are going to book some place we don't love because we just didn't know where to look...

ok i dont know if youre willing to do this but you can call places just to try. If you book a wedding with 6 months or less before the date, you get a big discount on the price. I know somebody who got married at penthouse on 5th ave, thats the name of it. Its a loft like you are looking for with amazing view of the city. They moved up their wedding date, and they gave them an amazing price. You can call places to see what dates they have available and if its a few months away, if they would give you a great price. This all depends on whether you are willing to do this though, i know it can be hard.
I agree with you...we booked 6 months out and every place we went dropped prices like crazy! But you need to be flexible with your dates.
Have u looked at any of the hamlets? I thought they were a bit more modern than other li halls

I think you could do a tented wedding and make it look modern. Most halls have a pre established look and it is hard to make them your own, where whn you do a loft or a tent, its like having a blank canvas.

What exactly do you mean my modern? Do you want minimalist? Cus this place is more what I was thinking you meant- especially cus you mentioned Lofts in NYC. Some of the halls are more traditional but considered modern cus of the decor.
