Help me find alternatives

Help me find alternatives

People have been scaring me with the whole daisies in wheatgrass idea, so FH and I have decided to start looking up possible alternatives should that fall through. So I will post what we have so far. If you have other ideas or pics (we love pics of CPs that are not elaborate (we want to DIY) please post them. they should incorporate gerber dasies and/or a garden theme.

THANKS girls. im sure people out there have ideas!

These are the CP we love and want to duplicate but people have been telling us here that they have to be wired and they wilt and die easy...I am paranoid now, What if our grass doesn't grow!

I just happened to find this and think this is a great second possibility. I mean its a painting but its still inspiration! We'd probably need that foam in bottom of the watering can and water tubes to keep then standing upright.

Someone suggested old milk bottles with raffia ribbons tied around the neck. We would put a whole bouquet in, not just two and scatter petalsaround. maybe add votice candles and glass hodlers with gerber heads in them? or small watering cans with heads of gerbers in them?

I really love this one-I saw gerbera daisy plants in our local stop N shop and would be super easy to plant one in here. Just need to know where to get a steady supply of the plans-stopn'shop is hit or miss.

When my sister got married a few years ago, she was looking for a cheaper alternative to florists. Stop and Shop actually had a whole wedding brochure that you could order from. Maybe they'd be able to order the plants for you? I think they work with FTD, if I remember correctly. She wound up ordering her flowers online through a site called the growersbox - I know they sell cut gerber daisies. HTH! Goodluck, your ideas are really cute!!

Thanks! The STOPN'SHOP advice was really helpful. I will have to ask them if they can order them because if they can, that is where I am ordering from. SOOO Afforcdable! You get three bunches of egerbers for all of 12 bucks. LOVE IT hehe.

I will also check out thegrowersbox. You're great. Love that pitcher idea! I like the idea of unusal containers. Thank you again!

Re: Help me find alternatives

I don't think the grass not growing is going to be an issue. Wheatgrass is incredibly easy to grow. What you should do is a couple of test runs so you know how fast it will be. I saw a Knot bio where someone talked about it, but I don't remember where...I'm about to leave work but I could find it later.

You could always use silk Gerbera daisies, or is that not an option? It's amazing how natural they look. Save-on-Crafts has great and cheap silks:

Thanks pencils...OH Boy..silk lol

I was going to do silk originally. I know about save on crafts and had no issue butt then my now former MOH (not my best friend-she replaced first one) said and I QUOTE!!! 'God thats so tacky..you're gonna look like ghetto homes.'

So I am afraid of them now but they are so pretty. Girls are wearing them in their hair.

I think i know the knot bio you're talking about. I saw one on there and she had pictures. It seems super easy to grow but you know how we brides are; want to have eveything prepped a month before the wedding! waiting 10 days before to grow the gras scares me so thats why i am looking for other backup plans that Icould buy-like buy the watering cans and if I ahave to return them, I return them.
