help me guess whats under the dress!

I have the designer's picture of the dress and then one with me in it.

I cant figure out what could be under the dress (hoop, crinoline- what kind?) to make the 'billows' of fabric wider and more ball gown like

[Am I making any sense at all?]

What are your guesses?

My guess would be it's a hoop skirt under there.

DId you bring the picture to the place where you bought the dress to see if they could tell? just a thought

I bought it at Estelle's...I didnt know if it was worth going back there? Do you think they would know if they didnt even let me try it on with the slip/hoop?

I would say a full skirt (crinoline) It makes a big difference.

Hmmm that would be interesting!!

I know they have different kind of crinoline slips.. Try a large one on with it and you should get the look you want. I wouldn't trust Estelle's though. They are just for getting the dress at the best prices. Where are you having it altered? Try your seamstress, she would know.
