Help me not be ugly. ;)

Original post by violetfairy

Hiya.

So, a friend of mine came over yesterday and asked, 'What happened?' I asked, 'What do you mean?' He looked all concerned and pointed under my eyes. I said, 'What?' FI took one look at me and said, 'He thinks you have two black eyes. Nope, that's just the way she always looks.'

Sigh.

I don't know why, but I *always* have big bags under my eyes. Sometimes they're dark, sometimes they're not, but they're always very puffy. I've tried lots of products and just ordered Estee Lauder's 'Uncircle.' Does anyone else know of any remedies for bags under the eyes or know what causes it? I really do get enough sleep, although I sleep at really bizarre hours (I usually sleep from 8 am to 4 pm).

I don't want to be ugly for my wedding!

Go to a dermatologist! I used to have red cheeks all the time, until I found out I had rosacea and I have a cream I use at night-never had a problem since. It's also cheaper than buying all the Estee Lauder products or other expensive products until you find one that works (the medicines are covered by insurance and so is the visit:) A good dermatologist may be able to help you with the cause of the problem, rather than a cover up for it. They can help with any other skin care problems too, and direct you to the best skin care products/makeup within your budget.

Violetfairy - about which comes first, the cover up or the foundation: I apply the cover-up first, and then foundation. But I've heard other people say they do the opposite.

As others on the board have said, drink lots of water.
