Help me not be ugly. ;)

Help me not be ugly. ;)

Hiya.

So, a friend of mine came over yesterday and asked, 'What happened?' I asked, 'What do you mean?' He looked all concerned and pointed under my eyes. I said, 'What?' FI took one look at me and said, 'He thinks you have two black eyes. Nope, that's just the way she always looks.'

Sigh.

I don't know why, but I *always* have big bags under my eyes. Sometimes they're dark, sometimes they're not, but they're always very puffy. I've tried lots of products and just ordered Estee Lauder's 'Uncircle.' Does anyone else know of any remedies for bags under the eyes or know what causes it? I really do get enough sleep, although I sleep at really bizarre hours (I usually sleep from 8 am to 4 pm).

I don't want to be ugly for my wedding!

Men have such a way with words, don't they! Don't let it get you too insecure, almost everybody complains about that problem. Uncircle works great! So does Verite, which is for sensitive skin. Your eyes might be a little puffier than usual because of all the allergens in the air.

P.S. Verite is by Estee Lauder

Thanks, Jess! Never heard of Verite-- now I'll have to check that out, too. It's not just men, though-- my mom's been telling me how crappy my eyes look since I was a teenager... I just always look like I haven't slept in days. And for one day, on my wedding, I want to feel pretty!

Don't worry about your wedding day, a good makeup artist is like a magician!!! Go to a trial or two early in the day so that you can be sure their magic lasts for the whole day.

I have this problem too and I use a Kinetin product made especially for that. It has helped a lot. The Body Shop in the mall (Roosevelt Field)sells all sorts of Kinetin products...my friend told me about them and I love them!!

My makeup artist used yellow concealer on me during my makeup trial for my dark circles...worked like a charm!!

I think Physicians Formula sells a good one..

To get rid of the puffiness you can either put cucumber over your eyes or use a very cold spoon and place it over your eye. Also products with vitamen K are supposed to work for that. Don't worry, you'll be a beautiful bride

I think dark circles are moslty hereditary, but some good skin care products and a good concealer should make them less noticeable.

For my circles, I've found that creamy concealers are better than the drier, stick kind. I use Vincent Longo, but I've read good reviews of Bobbi Brown's under eye concealer. I use Clinique's All About Eyes, which is ok.

There's a website that reviews all kinds of products: Make Up Diva not just make-up but skin care too.

Good luck, and I'm sure you will look gorgeous on your wedding day!

I use the spoons fresh out of the freezer - viola! no more bags

And if your FI says that again tell him the LI Girls will give him 2 black eyes all his own!

I also have crappy hours-I work from 8pm-8am and sleep from 9am-4pm and I get circles too---I usually use one of those gel masks you put in the freezer and sleep with that on and it helps with my puffiness. Also, drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated.

Ohmigosh, you people are awesome. Thank you for all the suggestions! For anyone else who's having this problem, I've heard that a lot of makeup artists use a little Preparation H under the eyes. Supposed to reduce swelling. It didn't work for me, but Conan O'Brien swears by it.

Don't listen to anyone!!

Also makeup fixes this! Dermablend is a great cover up for dark circles!

I'm sooo not used to wearing makeup. For people who use coverup under the eyes, do you then have to wear foundation over it so it blends right? And, by the way, LOL at Olgaki's black eyes comment.

try a vitamin K cream, that should help a bit, also make sure you are drinking enough water.
