Help me pick a RH

Original post by NYBride2

Let me give you a description of what I want...

Outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour with no traffic going by
Water like a lake or the ocean or bay (but no boats like a dock), grassy fields, lots of places to take pictures
Pretty inside (nothing Victorian or too girly)

Can't do Chateau La Mer bc my sister/MOH got married there and can't do Vineyard Caterers bc my SIL/BM got married there.

Wanted to do a vineyard but I think its too much money especially with the site fees!

I went to East Wind but it was too $$ and its was so Victorian decorated. I want like almost hippy - fairy tale - fantasy.
I also went to Flowerfield. I loves the inside for cocktail hour but wouldnt want my ceremony there in case of rain and wasn't that impressed with the outdoor ceremony area and it was $$ as well.

Am I being too cheap? We have a guest list of 175.

I think we can pay up to $100 per person before tax and gratuity.

ADVICE WANTED

Re: Help me pick a RH

hey - not to push my own RH but Timberpoint does have water and grass......and the CH is still outside even if it rains. It does not say 'hippy' to me at all though to be honest.....

don't know when you are planning on getting married but i guess if you want an outside cocktail area it must be summer months....i checked out lands end but it was too $$$$ for me like, way over what i think you are looking for.

I was going to suggest Riverview or Snapper Inn b/c they are a little less formal (which is kind of hippyish? maybe?) and even though i wanted something more formal i still would love to have had my wedding in either of those venues if not just for the water view.......but now i rearead your post it seems like you do want the decor to be top notch ...... i haven't seen but mabye watermill - anyway hope this is some help!

Not sure about the others, but we looked at the Old Field Club, but it was more expensive than we were able to afford (top price is $125 pp non-inclusive). What about Lombardi's on the Sound at the Pt. Jeff Country Club? You are on a bluff over looking the Sound (can see from Norwalk down to New Haven on the CT Coast). You get a lot for your money, but you will be over $100 pp for your date, most likely.

Good Luck!

I would try Timberpoint Country Club.

And another less expensive option is Windows on the Lake.

Also, you can also do a Friday night, Saturday day or Sunday wedding to save some $$

You should take a look at Smithtown Landing. It has everything you described! Call Lisa, she is awesome. Hope you find the hall of your dreams!!

I love the Flowerfield.....but what about:
Westbury Manor?
Woodbury Country Club?
The Riviera?
Rock Hill Club?
My sister's getting married at the Swan Club, but don't think they have outdoor weddings...but you can call up and find out.
I would recommend Leonard's but they don't have an outdoor gardeny area....that was my problem, so I'm having my ceremony somewhere else and the reception at Leonard's.

I'd say my hall, the Old Field Club....but its $125/person on a Saturday night (before tax and gratuity).

FM me if you want more info....but also, I think 175 might be too tight for there....its a small venue....

Doesnt hurt to check it out though and see if its right for you. They say they hold up to 200 guests....
