Help me pick my date, please.

Ok, so we are *thisclose* to choosing our hall and they all have two dates available - Sunday October 22, 2006 and Sunday October 29, 2006.

If we get married on 10/22 I feel that it will be a tad warmer - but does a week make that big of a difference? The sun sets at 6:04pm with a full moon, and the reception ends at 5 (I think) so everyone will be walking out into daylight with a beautiful sunset.

If we get married on 10/29, the sun sets at 4:55 and I'm sure there will be visible sunset left. I like this date better because it's closer to Halloween, and because I like the idea of people entering the wedding in the bright daylight and exiting during the beginning of night.

What do you think?

Wow, the sun sets an hour earlier just a week later? Anyway, I don't think the weather will change much in a week, but you seem to prefer the 29th, so why not do it then?

I don't think a week will make a big weather difference, but I'd go with the 22nd. Either way you can do a Halloween theme if that's what you want since it is so close.

It's because of Daylight Savings Time.
I know, when I read that, I wondered how that was possible.

I think you already made up your mind - it sounds like you want 10/29. Go with your gut feeling!!!

I believe they are changing daylight savings time to the second week in November, so on the 29th it would still set later. I remember congress trying to push that through.

The last few years, Halloween weekend has been really warm - this could be next year also. I'd go with the 29th if you want a Halloween wedding - a week won't really make a difference.

I would go with the 29th because that's what you really seem to want. Weather wise it's not going to be too much of a difference.

The only thing that would make me choose the 22nd is the full moon. It would look nice in pics, but if the moon is not up during your CH, then you will have to leave your reception to take pics with the full moon, so I guess it depends on how important that aspect might be.

I say the 29th!
You're getting married on a Sunday early...(like me)...you'll want that extra hour of sleep too!
Plus...being your theme is Halloween it'll be great that close to Halloween.
AND remember how HOT it was this past year on Halloween!!! Wow! I'm praying for that again this year!

My vote is the 29th! I had my wedding on Halloween - October 31, 2004, and OMG, it was such a beautiful day... like 75 degrees and ABSOLUTELY perfect. In October the weather varies so much that for all you know, Oct. 29 will be warmer than Oct. 22, so I wouldn't choose for weather reasons. I specifically chose halloween because it's my favorite day of the year, and wanted it to have a really 'fall' feel to the wedding, with the decorations, etc... and it really was so nice having the wedding start at daylight, but end in the dark...
