It's about time for me to start making appointments and picking out a DJ and I have only three main criteria:
1) Resonably priced....Im not looking to go crazy or over the budget, just someone who you feel has at least decent price ranges and packages.
2) Someone who is down-to-earth, friendly and easy to talk to...not a salesman type, just someone who gives you a good vibe when you walk through the door.
3) Can handle a wide variety of music. We're having a half italian, half latin wedding and we need the DJ to plays lots ot different types of music.
Can anyone give me any recommendations???

I 2nd Xtreme sounds We are having a wedding that includes Italian, Puerto Rican, Jamaican and Gospel music and they have been on top of everything. The guys are great and very friendly. Good Luck!

We are using VJ Entertainment. He definitely would meet all of your criteria. He's an LIW vendor and a pleasure to work with.

I always recommend Starlight, but they are not cheap. But they fit your other needs. I am only familiar with them so Im not sure who else to suggest.

FM Entertainment would be perfect for you. They're really reasonably priced, and def. not the salesmen type. They actually do their own showcases on Mon. and Wed. night's so you can see them 'in action' for yourself. Never once did I feel like I was trying to be 'sold'. To be honest, they do their thing up there on the microphone and it sells itself.
And, he specifically asked our group at the showcase if their were any specific nationalities that would need certain music of course people threw up their hands and he had lots to play for everyone. And, they're really nice on top of that! Hope that helps!

I was just going to say the same thing. They offer international music and multi-lingual MC's. They're really easy to work with, but since they specialize in weddings the prices may be higher than other companies since they don't have other types of parties to absorb some of the cost.

I absolutely LOVED Tommy Tunes!!! (they're in selden) my family & friends have used them for years :) Joe E. is the best....frankie is good too along with Tommy of course. DEFINETLY reasonably priced, and they're so great! good luck!
