Re: Help me pick.. please

I have never photographed weddings but I have had landscape and other photography published so I can tell you with my 'visual' background that #1 would look more sophisticated and elegant in my opinion with his uniform. It makes you look like a queen and I think that if people saw the details on the dress #1 they would like it even more. What colors are you using and how formal is the wedding?

#2 is awesome also and both look great on you. #2 would actually look even cooler in black and white or sepia photographs of your wedding. I am not in ANY way trying to offend any brides who have the gorgeous pick-ups on their gown but I really do think that it's a trend and if you are a classic type person you may be more happy with seeing #1 in pics 30, 40, 50 years from now. Gown #2 though would be wonderful if you want it to be obvious that you got married in the 2000's (just like 80's lace for instance.) It will go out and come back in style so really just choose whatever makes YOU swoon the most.

Let us know what you choose!

I voted #1, I think it is more classic and will look nicer next to your FH in uniform.

I agree

i love number 2, but i am biased. i have maggie's capri (see bio for pic). is that dress the caprimarie? i looooove it. i do not think you would clash with your fh or look overly busy if you don't overdo accessories (hair piece, jewelry, etc). let us know what you chose!! ~lacey

I have to agree with Lacey.....But that's because I got the same dress as her....Go for # 2!!!!!!!!

Personally, I like #1's simplicity - but #2 has a pizzazz to it. I'm not that into the ruffled look though. Definitely a matter of taste.

totally agree. It is what you like. You'll be wearing it but I like #1 better too for the same reason as stated.

#2!! I don't think it will be too much with FH's uniform at all.

It's an Allure dress.. i found it out in CA 4-5 months ago... and just recently became available in NY... it's so hard cause i love them both and they are both so different...i think i am leaning towards 1 though...

My general feeling on this is if a bride needs to post a poll to decide between two dresses, neither one is right for her.

Both dresses are beautiful, but if you can't choose, keep looking because you haven't found IT yet!

Not trying to offend anyone in any way but I disagree... I was stuck between 2 dresses that I adored equally for VERY different reasons. I was on the fence forever and bombarded my friends and family with my indecision. Both WERE right for me, but just created different moods. I actually switched my deposit from a lace gown made in Italy to my Amalia Carrara ( Eve of Milady ) gown and couldn't be happier.

I think this bride is good to be deliberating because then she will know she made the right choice in the end. The vows are the most important and the rest is just fluff... but it IS true that your wedding attire is something that 'lives on' every single time you look at pictures of your special day IMHO. I do think though that the bride (NOT US) should choose the one that makes HER feel incredible.

I think the first one is much more classic and timeless. Ruching is sort of all the rage right now, and it's certainly very beautiful, but you might look back at your wedding pictures 10 years from now and say, 'What was I thinking?' The first one will never be out of style.

HTH!
